TUCSON, Ariz. — A former Army recruiter was sentenced Monday to more than three years in prison in a cocaine smuggling case.
The Arizona Daily Star reported on its Web site that 37-year-old Ronricco Allen also was ordered to pay $17,000 in fines and serve three years of probation.
Allen was sentenced for his role in Operation Lively Green,
a federal corruption investigation that ensnared dozens of military personnel and other federal and state officials.Authorities say Allen, who worked out of a midtown Tucson Army recruiting station, participated in three drug runs in fall 2002, running a total of 265 pounds of cocaine.
They say Allen and 10 other defendants ran cocaine from Tucson to Las Vegas on one occasion.
