ELKHART -- Dozens of military veterans gathered outside an Elkhart funeral home Friday to oppose an uncommon group of protesters.

During visitation hours before the funeral of Maj. Gerald M. Bloomfield II of Ypsilanti, Mich., who died in combat Nov. 2 in Iraq, members of a Topeka, Kan.-based church protested against a country they say supports gay people. <snip>

Of the seven pickets, three were children, including 6-year-old Josiah Hockenbarger, who held a sign that read, "Fag soldier in hell." <snip>

According to an article published in The Courier-Journal of Louisville, Ky., on Oct. 25, members of Westboro Baptist Church have protested at the funerals of about 50 soldiers since June.

7. These dirt bags planned to attend

a veteran's funeral here in the Tampa Bay area a couple months ago. The local population proved to be too hostile for them and they changed their plans at the last minute. These scum should be institutionalized.
