The Freedon Team is on the hunt for vets
This was on a blog I subscribe to:

(email) Subject: Col Kasey Warner

The Army would like to thank ALL of its veterans for their honorable service, whether World War II, Korea, Viet Nam, the Cold War, the Gulf Wars, other actions, or the "in-between" years --- ANY honorable service with the US Army. We call it Freedom Team Salute. Please note that ANYONE may submit the names of Army vets for recognition. The veteran will receive a letter and a commendation certificate signed by the Army Chief of Staff and Secretary of the Army. The vet will also receive a very nice, official Army lapel pin and a couple official Army decals. It is a sharp presentation packet.

Additionally those currently serving as Army Reservists and Guardsmen may submit the names of their parents, spouses, and employers for similar recognition -- thanking them for supporting the Army.

ANYONE can go to www.freedomteamsalute.com and submit names. They would like to have the rank of the veteran when they left the Service. They need a name and address as well. An email address is also requested; but the packet will be sent even if the submitter does not know the vets rank or email address. Finally, within reason (I live in Charleston, spend significant time in Barbour County, and get to Morgantown regularly), if you would like me to come to your organization' s meeting and discuss the program, please let me know and I will see if we can't work something out.

If this program is well received, we will push for the other Services to institute a similar program. Remember, ANYONE may submit Army veteran names. EVERYONE knows people who have served in the Army. Your help in getting names submitted, personally and by others, is greatly appreciated. Thanks for your continued service in this regard.

Col. Kasey Warner
