Military funeral "honor guard" question
Actually, Mrs. ZBDent's question.

She is a co-worker of the Middleburg Heights (Ohio) soldier's mother. One of the three which was killed in Iraq a few weeks ago in a car-bomb explosion (the three were based out of Akron).

Mrs. ZBDent hasn't caught the newscasts, but has heard second-hand about the arrangements.

She said that there were three "guards" by the body. I would guess that they were the "honor guard".

Her question is this - are they guarding the body 24/7 until burial, or are they dismissed from duty at the time that the funeral home/whatever locks the doors?

Anybody know?
