Soldier killed while crossing street

Officials on Monday identified a soldier from Fort Hood, Texas, who died from injuries he suffered after he was hit by a vehicle while crossing the street.

Spc. Robert Christopher Walden, 25, of Peru, Ind., was hit about 11 p.m. on Oct. 30 while crossing Clear Creek and Desert Willow roads in Killeen, Texas.

Walden was taken to Carl. R. Darnall Army Medical Center on Fort Hood but was pronounced dead at 1:15 a.m. on Oct. 31.

Walden joined the Army in May 2006 as an infantryman. He was assigned to A Company, 1st Battalion, 26th Infantry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 1st Infantry Division. He had been assigned to Fort Hood since January 2007 and deployed to Afghanistan from September 2008 to June 2009. Walden’s awards and decorations include the Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal and Combat Infantry Badge.

as I recall, there was exactly 1 troop death in Haiti under Clinton ... and that was, as the Republican crying crocodile tears over it put it, a "drive by shooting" at a toll booth ... and that was six months after the Repugs were claiming that Clinton was sending them into a bloodbath ...
