Air Force Secretary Michael Donley remains set to stay on during President-elect Obama’s administration, Air Force spokeswoman Lt. Col. Brenda Campbell said Monday.

How long he will stay is less certain. Campbell, Donley’s chief spokeswoman, said she was not willing to say how long Donley would keep the job, only that she has not heard of any plans to announce a successor.

“I have not received any updates on whether a change would be made,” Campbell said. “Unless an announcement is made he is still taking meetings as the secretary.”

Navy Secretary Donald Winter said he planned to keep his job until March 13 during an interview Monday with Navy Times editors and reporters.

He said Defense Secretary Robert Gates asked Donley, Winter and Army Secretary Pete Geren to keep their jobs for at least six to eight weeks into Obama’s administration “to minimize the disruptive nature of the transition process.”
