HOLLOMAN AIR FORCE BASE, N.M. — The death of a 7-month-old boy who was found unresponsive by his parents in their home on Holloman Air Force Base is under investigation.
The base announced Tuesday that the boy was pronounced dead Nov. 11 at Gerald Champion Regional Medical Center in Alamogordo. The cause of death is still under investigation.
Col. Jeffrey Harrigian, 49th Fighter Wing commander, said the base’s thoughts and prayers are with the family.
He said state health officials have conducted extensive environmental testing on the base and have interviewed the family. Results of the tests are expected in the coming weeks.
The base advised military personnel to consult their doctors if there are concerns about their child’s health.
