Child porn nets Eielson airman a year in prison

FAIRBANKS, Alaska — A 23-year-old Eielson Air Force Base airman was sentenced to a year in military prison for possessing child pornography.

Lt. Frank Hartnett says Jeremy Scott Russell was convicted last week and will be dishonorably discharged.

The head of a statewide cyber crimes task force, Anchorage police Sgt. Ton Tidler, says Russell’s computer was seized in 2006, and the case was turned over to the military.
