Col. Casey Haskins, commander of the 198th Infantry Brigade at Fort Benning, Ga., will pass the baton June 17 to Col. Daniel Kessler at a ceremony on Kanell Field, according to an Army press release.

Each year more than 15,000 soldiers graduate from one station unit training with the 198th Infantry Brigade.

Kessler commanded 3rd Battalion, 11th Infantry Regiment, at Fort Benning from 2001 to 2003, and has been director of the Combined Arms and Tactics Directorate at the U.S. Army Infantry School since July 2006.

Before his current assignment, he was deputy commanding officer of 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 3rd Infantry Division, at Fort Benning between July 2003 and July 2006.

Haskins has been re-assigned to the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, N.Y., where he will serve as the director of military instruction, the release said.
