Europe briefs: Army IDs soldier found dead in Schweinfurt

A 1st Battalion, 18th Infantry Regiment soldier who died earlier this week in Schweinfurt, Germany, has been identified as Pfc. David W. Webb of Duncanville, Texas. He was 26, according to a V Corps release.

Members of Webb’s unit found him unresponsive in a Schweinfurt barracks Sunday, according to an earlier release. He was pronounced dead at about 9 a.m. the same day at Leopoldina Hospital in Schweinfurt.

The cause of death is under investigation.

A memorial ceremony for Webb will be held Thursday at 10 a.m., at the Ledward Barracks chapel in Schweinfurt.
