for acknowledging history that is too often passed over for the sake of expediency. If history wasn't sanitized, the present might be easier to deal with.

One interesting thing I noted is, before I created that OP in GD, the thread had about 46,000 views (which is PHENOMENAL by the way). Now it's up to over 48,00 in just the last few days!

Oh, do I dare dream that knowledge of ACTUAL history, culture and politics spreads throughout DU, replacing "gut feelings," really bad and ignorant historical "analogies" and "what I read on some dumbass' homemade blog?" Do I dare dream such a dream??
