The fact that these people were EVER associated with the Democratic Party should be an eternal shame.

1. That's my first and LAST trip to that web site. You're going to have to do some
excerpts, snips or SOMETHING if you want to quote from that site because I cannot handle that much willful stupidity and cluelessness so soon after my dinner.

It should cause physical pain to be that goddamned stupid.

2. Just goes to show that
most racists don't wear white hoods, burn crosses, wave confederate battle or Nazi flags. They look like (gasp! ) ordinary people!

:wtf:

4. Yep! But they are still easily identifiable
They are usually the ones defecating pearls of "wisdom" such as "I don't see color" and "race is an outdated concept. There is only the HUMAN race" while blissfully ignoring the social, economic, cultural, political etc. etc. etc. impact that race has played on human society for the past 600 years.

Some white people just don't seem to get that many people of color would much rather hear "yeah, you're black/Indian/Chinese/Maori/whatever and I will respect you as an individual" from a white person than "I don't see color." THEY may like to convince themselves that they don't see color, but 1) we know that's not true and 2) being black is important to me and is one of the most significant ways in which I see myself.

So when a white person says "I don't your color," they're basically saying that something that is crucially important to me is "insignificant" which is patronizing at best. My response to anyone saying that would be, "well you should."

5. Mine was a tongue-in-cheek answer
to the defense of those white guys, along with Don Imus, Michael Richards, and the like, since, to most white people, TRUE racists are the hood-wearing, cross-burning, confederate-flag waving, super-obvious uncouth inbred yahoos. The other ones aren't really racist--unless they do something obvious. Even then, there will be always a bunch of other white people jumping up to defend them.

6. Yeah, I know. I was just pointing out the racial cluelessness of white people
who say things like "I don't see color" as if that's a grand and noble concept. It isn't.

I don't think that they're racists in the true sense of the word, just racially tone deaf.

7. They are just stupid racists.
The most worrying racists are the ones who say nothing and then get to positions where they can implement racism in a systemic, institutional form.

From a middle manager making an initial sift of job applications by name, all the way up to the setting of credit scores based on areas people live.
