along with Tomi Rae Brown http://www.npr.org/templates/rundowns/rundown.php?prgId=13

1. I heard it last it last night on NPR while driving in the car and the
interview was great, Terry Gross is the best, JB seems to have his act together again, good for him.

And, she was the right one to interview him.

Did you catch the Essie Mae Washington-Williams' inteview earlier in the week? I d/l it from Audible but haven't listened yet but I did send my mom a copy of her new book after reading an excerpt of it online.

A lot in GD have lost faith in NPR but I listen every day. Do you?

:hi:

3. NPR can be great, mediocre, or occasionally bad
I still listen, but am quick to turn the channel if the story doesn't interest me.

NPR and PBS together are still the best broadcast news outlets, in my opinion, though the very best thing is multiple sources, including BBC and cable outlets, as well.

And nothing beats a good newspaper.

4. Oh, I agree with EVERYTHING
you say! The BBC was the ONLY credible news source in the run up to and following the US 'liberation of Iraq'.

But, Kwassa, what are we going to do without Bill Moyer?

5. That was a great interview,
complete with the two versions of I Feel Good and his description of the difference, and a lot of insights into Brown's approach to music making. "Discipline" being the operative word.

I thought Tomi Rae was almost frighteningly worshipful though. Granted, the guy is one of the Greats. Nobody doubts that. But she sounded a little robotic in her worship, more like a devotee or cult member than a wife and mother of his child.

6. Well, they've had a publicly rocky marriage so
maybe she overplayed the dutiful wife just a tad to counteract that impression. :)
