1. Honestly, I haven't even been following it.
Lately, if I don't see the word Edwards in a thread title, I rarely click on it. Maybe I'll go check it out and see what it's all about. My recommend finger is getting tired anyway.

2. Ugh...
I just checked out some of those threads. It sickens me when the repub candidates talk about Reagan in those terms and now a Dem candidate is doing it? I swear, I don't know what I'm going to do if John isn't our nominee.

4. It's not a problem if you take it in the correct context
Obama was talking about Reagan's ability to change public perceptions about the country. He never said those changes were good for America.

And he mentioned that Clinton was unable to do that. Of course, if the Repubs hadn't been stalking Clinton like a hungry tiger maybe he would have been able to change publing perceptions/thinking.

In any case, what Obama said was correct. It doesn't mean he's pro-Reagan or anything. It just means that he can recognize a good skill that the man had.

5. The over the top spinning of this only bolsters perception making truth the victim.
We are our words.

Words are who we are.

And as that cop on the old TV program would say...... "Be careful out there, people"

6. That "skill" led to the death of those 241 Beirut Marines in 1983
under the direction of President Reagan, they would be "peacekeepers", so no rounds were allowed in the chambers of the Security Marines guarding the barracks.

Heaven forbid there would be an accidental discharge.

I'll never forgive Reagan for cutting and running and blaming pressure from the Democrats.

As far as Obama's statement, I trust if he wants to spread peace and love around the world, he has more common sense than RR did. Otherwise, it's politics as usual and pandering for the GOP vote.

7. There is only one President that I hate more, or scares me more than Ray-Gun-

Anyone that could have good things to say about Regan, was not paying attention during the 80's. I find the two perceived "front runners" in this race to be sadly ignorant of recent history.

9. I don't think Obama's ever met a right wing talking point he didn't like.

10. It just raises my already real concern that Obama's
"reaching across the aisle" is a way to let Repugs keep their hand in the cookie jar. I don't trust him. He's more about getting elected than about serving the country.
