I think it's time we took the bull by the horns and give BIG MEDIA a piece of our mind! What do any of you think of bombarding them with LETTERS or NOTES telling them how disgusted we are that THEY basically PUSHED Clinton & Obama on the American people & others as well since the campaigns started up in earnest??

There's a list here at DU where we can write them. I don't think the message should be nasty, but do think we should be FIRM and convicted about what we say. Something along the lines about how we feel that even though the "included" his name as one of the TOP 3 Democratic candidates, they generally ONLY focused on Clinton & Obama! I for one think this played a HUGE roll in Edwards not winning Iowa. But I will have to admit that with Edwards coming in 2nd, he energized more people than ever to donate to him. This also could be a talking point. Had people been "more informed" about him, he may well have had enough money to spend. He was outspent by 6 to 1 and still came in 2nd... yet another point to be emphasized.

I would like some feed-back if you would. Thank you.

Trouble with swarming media with copy and paste astroturf emails, they have filters now that auto delete them.

so far. I gave again... and Elizabeth Edwards said have gotten a lot of NEW people! That's what's needed, for me and for him! I keep dipping in and trying to give as much as I can... it gets harder all the time.

I think the press - the corporate media - is the enemy, Ninga. We need to think in terms of getting around them, not wooing them, as a hard-headed practical matter.

We are going to have to buy time from them, and we are going to have to get friends and neighbors together to see the rare unbiased appearances such as the KO interview.

The biggest challenge is voters barely even hearing about him, if at all, and when they do only in dismissive "also ran" and "inconsequential" contexts.

Nothing wrong with telling people - "look, it seems that the big media corporations really do not want you to hear this guy."

The big Super Tuesday is a problem, because with so many states in play at the same time the campaigns with the most money will have the most reach and influence. We need airtime in all of those states, or else we will have millions of voters going to the polls without being familiar with Edwards at all. The big campaigns are counting on that - they know they aren't being "chosen" by the voters - they are buying the job.

Raising funds online is going to be where the candidacy wins or fails.

I would say that it is going to be very difficult to get a fair shake from the MSM. Edwards can buy airtime - that is going to be the fastest path to getting into people's homes.

If Edwards had his best online fund raising day ever today - is that right? - then that is probably the area our efforts are best placed.

him tonight, AGAIN! It's back to Clinton & Obama and if SHE can beat him in NH! SOS! I feel so bad for Edwards and Tweety treated Elizabeth Edwards like crap today! Obama is even being portrayed as the candidate who's "for the people" because he against all the BIG MONEY, etc in Washington and how corporations are doing American in. These are Edwards' issues, but Obama has taken them as his, AND MSM is reporting it that way!

I think I'll pack it in for today! I've had enough, it's pretty disgusting what's going on... but it's also obvious.

12. Heh! I JUST sent off a missive to Charlie Gibson.

I've given up on the network "news"casts. But this evening the wife had the ABC Evening news on when I wandered into the kitchen. I took a stool and watched the whole broadcast. There was only the MOST SCANT MENTION of Edwards thru the whole danmed broadcast! Christ! They REALLY ARE AFRAID OF JOHN and his determination to doff the corporate yokes off of our coffers!!! I mean.... it would be different if it happened only now and then. But there's an unspoken conspiracy to NOT GIVE John ANY MORE AIR TIME than they absolutely HAVE TO! They're so GOD DAMNED FIXATED on the daring duel of a female vs. a black that they can't (or more likely, WON'T) see straight!
Anyway, I went to ABC's website and sent Charlie a note to alert him/them that I and others are onto them. Please do the same if you haven't already! :grr:
