Whatever. I am tired of my prior Edwards affiliation being thrown in my face because i woun't participate in the koolaid drinkers blood lust regarding Clinton. And I still say, Edwards can endorse who he chooses. it is nothing to me. I make my choice, he makes his. I am not a lemming. I am so ashamed of DU and its denizens. They bear a shocking resemblance to FR today. Any site that would accuse another democratic presidential candidate of deliberately calling for an assasination attempt on another candidate isn't somewhere I can be. i am more disgusted than I thought possible.

1. Get some rest and forget about this place for a while.
They've literally lost their collective minds.

2. I realize she didn't specifically say.. "assassinate Obama".. but the comment
was distasteful and disgusting. AND unlike previous elections, most of the Primaries were held sooner rather than later this year. So, California was voting in the Primary in June. California has already held their primary. Another point, her husband really had the election shored up at the end of April, June was a technicality. AND why in the world of all things would you use the example of Bobby Kennedy and use the words assassination in the same breath.

This season has become bitter and disgusting and has had such lows. I went to hear Obama the other day in Tampa. I wanted to see and hear him in person. I was looking around at so many colors and so many ages and so much enthusiasm. It was amazing to be standing there in line and hear so many people who were actually aware of the issues and were aware of what is going on. More people are awake than we sometimes believe here on the boards when we say the "sheeple". I was unaware just how many individual people had contributed to the campaign and truly feel as they have "bought" their candidate. This is a lot of people's last Hope for this country to go in the right direction. And there was an overwhelming sense that people want in on the decision making. They want to build this country. They want it to be great the good way. They want environmental protections and green initiatives. They want jobs with meaning and passion. They want good, healthy food and access to doctors. They want good education for their children. They want to be able to save and not use their credit cards as "welfare" to get them through the week.

The overwhelming sense that I felt while listening is that his greatest fear is letting this nation down. The pressure of taking this country at this time and turning it around is absolutely insane, but I sense that he is counting on the people who elect him not just to go home after November and wait for him to do all the work... He's counting on people to work together in their communities and across this nation to really actively fix the many problems we face.

I went to listen. I felt Hope not from the candidate, but from the people who were there. The people who were wanting and willing to build this country into something we need it to be. That's where the hope lies; its not in Obama.. Its in the people.

I know, I may have a ton of responses that say I've drank the Kool-aid and all this and that, but I know I haven't. I'm still myself. I still over analyze everything. I still look and listen with a cautious eye. I have to say, I was really proud to see people actively participating and actively giving a damn.

4. Don't bother to go there.
I saw the tape and what is going on is inexcusable, unjustifiable, and insane.

5. I'm not exactly sure which you mean.. the reaction from Obama supporters?
OR the comments made by Clinton? I can tell you that it left a lot of people I know really upset. People who I talk with who aren't that "political" were really quite upset by this comment... AND yes, they had heard the actual comments.. its been played on every single channel that plays the news.

Now, most of the post was explaining what my experience was in going to see Obama speak live. I would do likewise if Clinton was in town. I really don't care for McSame, so I wouldn't even bother with him. What I'm explaining about my community that I live in is that people are aware. People are wanting to change things. People are willing to do the work. People do not want to be screwed over again. AND the hope is not placed on Obama, it is placed within the community and within the people.

initiative in tryig to uplift the people and bring people together to rebuild America. I'm not sure if Clinton would enthuse people quite the same way.. especially since she has thrown so many kitchen sinks. The reason I was so drawn to Edwards was because he was "we" person. He had plans to set the motion rolling.. but it was a we mentality.

This board is not like real people in real life. There was nobody in my section of line or in the arena that were negative towards Clinton.. they just realize that her possibilities of becoming the nominee were very limited. I think we have a different perspective in FL because we have been out of the loop. Nobody campaigned. No one came into the state. Our elections didn't really count (and are really unfair for anyone to pull delegates from). So, this was our time to be wooed... to see what everyone has been talking about. To experience the "campaign" which everyone else received access to. There isn't much doubt, at least, in my area, or with people I've spoken to, that beleive that Obama will not be the Dem nominee.

People are, and have been, hurting for a while in Florida.. We've had too many Bushes (should have never moved here). We were getting the screw well before the rest of the country. Sucks that so few bothered to vote or care back in 2000. People are now caring. AND for that I am grateful. Time will only tell what happens to this country. We all have to work to make it better for ourselves.

15. Listen, no matter how much I stomp my feet or hold my breath.. I'm not
getting John back. We have what we have. What I like about Obama is that he seems to be settling into a more positive, smooth roll. AND he makes people around this world excited.. and that is good. Hillary has just become so negative to me. She wasn't even on my short list this year. I took another look because John was out and only 2 were left. She doesn't make me proud to be a woman. She doesn't make me feel competitive. She doesn't motivate me. She talks about I and me.

I know I'm here all the time because my job lets me and I find it an interesting place at times, but I do have experiences and values outside a screen posting name. At the end of the day I would chose Obama over Clinton. AND at the end of the day it will take all Americans to make America. AND yes, I will have to get off my butt (lol).

As far as HOPE from the people, are you kidding me... Obama's "people" are circling the drain.

I'm just putting it out there for interesting reading. Since us people are always in the dark, we really never quite know what's going on.

It's actually quite the conspiracy stuff, so I apologize if it doesn't rub well with anyone. Some really "out there" ideas in it.

16. Interesting...
stranger things have been written; even stranger things happen.

I've heard some crazy things from various members of my activist group.. a few years ago, I'd said they were all crazy, but things kept coming out and falling into place just like they said... so, who knows what will happen eventually. The reason why people give up on the whole political thing and stick to themselves is because it seems impossible anyways.. and they do what they want.. and the whole thing is rigged.. so, why bother? And that's what seems to have happened to some people here.

I'd like to think we all continue on... we continue making the difference.. we keep pushing.. we keep exposing the truth.. perhaps we will be set free.

3. I'm thinking about doing the same thing
DU clearly demonstrates the turmoil within the party. The two remaining candidates invoke such ire and disdain from fellow Democrats that it is mind-boggling to think either could ever unite the country. It's a sickening mess, a circular firing squad... I cannot believe that after eight years of Bush this is the best we can do.

Take care, saracat. You've fought the good fight and you've earned a rest.

18. Hey saracat
Cheers to you for standing your ground. You know me to be an ally against the madness which has ripped this Party apart. I can hardly stomach the nonsense spewed by neophyte voters, who are so in the dark, it is laughable. Overconfident to a fault, they are in for severe disillusionment when Obama either loses, or proves he is nothing but the hand-picked tool of Corporatist Wall-Streeters.

Watching these delusional partisans is a fascinating sociological and psychological study. Unfortunately, we all know how this will play out. We see the future that is the "blind spot" for Obamites. Their interesting case study is no more than misery for the rest of us, inflicted by the willfully blind.

It is all so..........sad. :(

20. Take care of yourself sara -
we all need a break - my three year old is sitting on my lap as I type, I think we need to find what makes us happy (she's telling me she can play this game?? Funny, I think DU has become a game to some - and I thought Democrats were the compassionate ones, go figure) and my children are my solace, they are my future. I am proud to have stood with you - and never will any of us core Edwardians be lemmings. I still believe that Edwards is going to do what he feels is politically expedite to get the issues in the forefront and try to find solutions to what ails this country. Maybe after all this is over there may be a movement toward a third party, I know many who are sick of what has transpired - I, for one, would welcome it. Take care of yourself and I hope to see you around here sometime down the road for your voice is needed.
