Any experience with the Fender super sonic 60 amp?

3. Absolutely love it. I have been chasing a sound.....

for years with peddles, etc. Plugged into this amp and there it was. Channel one you can switch between the fender vibrolux and the bassman and channel two is dirty. Playing the Rick 330 through the vibrolux channel really sounds sweet. Also the amp isn't crazy heavy like my Roland JC 120.

4. One other thing. There are controls on the return and send....

of the effects loop. If you run a jumper between the return and send you can adjust it with the controls and still get a nice warm sound at low volume. You can also use it as a lead boost. The footswitch has a switch which allow you to go back and forth between the vibrolux and bassman, a switch for the gain channel, and a switch for effects.

Just kidding. Glad this was a purchase that worked out so well.

Speaking of pedals: I recently bought a Vox Saturator. Shazzam!

By far the warmest, fully saturated distortion unit i've ever heard. I use a Boogie but for going to an open jam night, i don't want to haul 70 pounds of amp just to play a half hour. So, last Sunday, i go to this jam being hosted by a band i'm friends with. I plugged into the rhythm guitar player's amp, just told him give me a clean channel. Then i used the pedal.

I've never been happier with the tone i got using someone else's rig.

It's not cheap for a distortion pedal, but boy does it work nicely.

6. I decided to work off the clean channel for most....

of what I do. I want to keep it simple so clean with my peddles works just fine. I will use the gain channel only for some special tone. When you do 50 - 60 songs it can get crazy keeping it together what is what. The other player in the band uses a peavey vyper 120 tube head with the foot controller. He still gets all screwed up and it makes me crazy. I want to tell him that if he can't figure it out he needs to play through something else.

7. A Note In Support

For many years i was a multi keyboardist. An 88 key weighted action and 76 key synth action keyboard all MIDI'd together with 4 tone modules in a rack.

I had zones set up with separate and layered sounds coming from 6 sound sources. So, i had to remember where each sound was and for a while i had to actually follow a patch chart to set up uthe right sounds for the right songs. Later, i just started programming the whole set up under the song name.

Later, i got an add on to my big keyboard that allowed me to trigger set-ups on all the other devices by just changing one patch on one machine. But for a long while, man did i have a lot to remember.

On top of all that, i had 6 volume pedals to balance everything, especially layered sounds. I was pretty busy up there.

I had a total of 45 cables in my set up, not counting power.

So, i completely understand your desire to keep it simple.
