2. That's pretty Advanced for me
I went to school a few years back with people in an audio degree program that used that very software. It can do everything, I know, but may be a bit too advanced for what I want to do.

I notice you said mixing and not recording.

GarageBand should come with OS X. It's easy to use and you can readily get more sounds and loops.

6. actually, you can record into garage band too. or import recorded tracks.
besides the loops.
and it is very simple.
