Classic Film Buff Fun on the AFI website.
Those Classic Film Group DUers unfamiliar with the American Film Institute might want to check out the links below, particularly to the videos.

The AFI site has long had the schedules for its special events and film schedules (for people on the West and East coasts), but there's a lot more there than I'd realized.

I have rather mixed feelings about its Top 100 lists. On the one hand, I appreciate the fact that the specials associated with this feature might help reawaken interest in movies that otherwise will be forgotten and/or ignored. On the other hand, I get a little weary of the same small group of directors/actors being called on again and again to weigh in on what makes a good film.

Anyway, for your edification, here are...

The Seminars section, which features filmmakers talking about their craft:

AFI database of American films, both feature length and short subject:

AFI Theater:

The site for AFI's Silver Theatre (in the Washington, D.C., area) includes a schedule of films now playing. Very much worth checking out if you are in the area or within easy driving distance.
