TCM Schedule for Tuesday, December 9th: Star of the Month: Joseph Cotten
Get out your handkerchiefs for Since You Went Away.

Watch Joseph Cotten blow smoke rings and Gregory Peck play a bad guy and listen to Lionel Barrymore utter some very un-PC things in Duel in the Sun, on tonight as part of the Joseph Cotten's turn as Star of the Month.

And get in touch with your inner artist with A Portrait of Jennie.

In other news, happy birthday to Kirk Douglas!

1. You always find the best photos!
They just take me away to another world! Thanks!

I'm all set to record several of today's movies, including Since You Went Away, which I've probably seen at least 20 times! But I love it! :hi:

There's really no substitute for those wonderful faces and images, color or in beautiful black and white.

Since You Went Away is one I only saw during the last few years (Thanks, TCM!), but it makes great viewing, especially at Christmas. But watch those tears.

3. I've never seen 'The Story of Three Loves'
but I'll be taping it tomorrow for later viewing. 'Portrait Of Jennie' is one of my ALL time favorites!! Joseph Cotten is wonderful in everything he appeared in, IMO.

4. Did you ever see "Love Letters"?
That's another Joseph Cotten-Jennifer Jones pairing. I happened to catch it years ago on what was once known as American Movie Classics (indeed, back when it was American Movie Classics, and not a hodgepodge of the good and the god-awful).

6. I haven't seen 'The Love Letters'
but it sounds wonderful! I will have to keep a look-out for it to come up on TCM sometime.

Like you, I miss AMC when it REALLY showed American Movie Classics!

5. I like the "Mademoiselle" segment of Story of Three Loves.
The element of magic in it appeals to me, and although her role is small, Ethel Barrymore manages to
walk away with it, IMHO.
