Portal: No Escape (fan film, good enough to be a full-length motion picture)

Go watch this short film. Do it in HD if you can, and make sure you can hear it nicely.

Portal: No Escape

:wow:

I think Valve should snap this up. They've been exploring the idea of expanding their franchises to film for a while now with their "Meet the..." Team Fortress 2 shorts. They have publicly stated that the scripts they've received thus far have been so laughably bad that they almost want to do it themselves.

But this.... this has potential, and Portal is unusual enough a concept to film audiences to be a huge hit in theaters, just like the game was to gamers.

Really, go, watch. This is good.

2. The thing I can't understand is why it took five years to make.
Fabrication of the costumes? It couldn't have been the CG; the effects they used aren't all that complex- though I have to say the last thirty seconds or so were pretty epic!

Maybe they spent all that time polishing everything. If so, it certainly shows.... and if nothing else, if Valve wants to make an extended Portal short, say thirty minutes or so, they should hire this actress, because she is Chell, to the life. I swear, like Gandalf in LOTR, they found the real-life character and pressed her into service!
