2. I've been playing the Beta for a month or so now. It rules. I've got a key or two to give away.
PM me if interested. Costs you nothing.

3. I was never a big RTS fan.
Edited on Sat May-08-10 04:01 PM by Forkboy
The first Starcraft came out was when I started getting out of the genre. I played it quite a bit, but it was probably the last real RTS game I devoted any serious time to. They all come down to the "rush", be it a tank rush, a "zealot rush" or whatever. I have yet to try an RTS that doesn't come down to building the mostest the fastest.

I'm a turn-based kind of guy, dammit! :)

I'll still check it out. ;)

4. ditto
give me a little Civ any day; or a game you can pause to work on, like SimCity et al

I played the first two Warcrafts, and I just didn't get as much out of them as i did with Civ

9. You should give Rise of Nations a try
Designed by Brian Reynolds, it really rocks. Almost all of the depth of a TBS in a RTS. Played on a slow speed with costs and research set to high and long, it can be a real epic game.

11. I made a video of Zerg adventures from various replays of SC2 Beta games.
Mostly mine but some from others.

Make sure to view it in the 480p resolution option and fullscreen it to fully appreciate the ragechat messages:

12. I got a beta invitation today - but wary
Seems like the last beta I was in was.. well, fake beta.. counselors on Ultima Online. It was fun, but very tedious.

Maybe I'll flip a coin.

13. I should really get around to playing the beta.
But I hate RTS Multiplayer. I really do. I'm in this for the single player aspect. (Nearly 30 missions!)

Although I did love me some Company of Heroes. Relic really changed how RTS games are played. I wonder if Blizzard used any of those changes, or are we just going to see a ton of "Big Game Hunter" multiplayer maps proliferating the servers? Nothing but tons of resources at your main base so you can turtle, harvest a crap-ton of resources, and force your opponent's computer to crash with the sheer volume of units on-screen.

...who am I kidding? I played Supreme Commander.P
