DIRECTV Delivers Worldwide Event Access to Sold-Out BlizzCon 2009
http://www.bluesnews.com/cgi-bin/articles.pl?show=942

18 hours of BlizzCon coverage over two days... I'm about the biggest Blizzard fan there is and even I think this is just stupid. I don't know, maybe it is just because I've followed Blizzard for a long time, I can pretty much guess what is going to come out of BlizzCon. Here are my predictions:

Starcraft II - This will probably be the center of the show since it should be closest to release. Lots of game-play footage, some more storyline and a multi-player tournament would not shock me at all.

Diablo III - More hands on game play. The big announcement will probably be revealing the next character, Probably playable on the show floor.

WoW - This will probably be played up pretty big but at most they will say another expansion is in the works... maybe the title of it but little to nothing in the way of detail on it. More area's, higher character levels, new weapons and mounts, blah blah blah.

Un-named MMO - This has the potential to be the biggest news out of the show. They have been working on this for a while and said little more then it is a new franchise. This game is a long way off though, a very long way off. Blizzard likes to do big build ups to it's games and since there is pretty much no information released, I don't see this game being released for at leased 2 - 2.5 years... 3 would even make more sense. That gives them time to milk WoW for every last dime, plus build enough excitement so that large numbers of WoW players move right into the new money making machine. My guess... Post-Apocalyptic MMO, Blizzards take on the Fallout universe. Lets face it, Blizzard is not the most inventive company out there, they take good ideas and make them great. They take the time to put in all the bells and whistles, excellent balance, good controls and a graphic rate that will be playable by a large number of users. It is a good plan, I'm glad someone does it. Regardless, even though it will be played up as some huge announcement, very little real info about it (if anything, I could be wrong) will be released.

Other then that though... What? Maybe some portable games... or something being farmed out for development on console... Nothing that won't be available online almost at the same time it is happening on the show floor. ehhh, I don't see it being worth 39.95... or wanting to watch it for 18 hours over two days. heh, I bet it plays like an infomercial :D

Though, if your a WoW player, your also eligible to get a new pet, "Grunty the Murloc Marine"... WTF?
