Cheapest way to connect 360 to wireless network
my son wants to get xbox live. We already have a wireless network between the computers. I just can't see paying $100 to M$ for their "special" adapter. Is there another way to get Xbox live?

Thanks for any help.

1. I can't imagine why a normal wireless adapter wouldn't work just fine.
Our stuff is all hooked up to a wired D-Link gaming router. We have two iMacs, a 360 and a PS3 on it and it all runs flawlessly. Yeah, the blue internet cables running along the walls are kinda ugly, but it's a helluva lot cheaper. :) If that's true with wired connections, then the XBox 360 should work with a typical wireless connection as well. Check around online just to be sure though.

2. thanks for the advice
I think I may have get an adapter that hooks to the ethernet. I tried the USB wireless adapter that my son uses to get internet on his computer and it wouldn't work.

USB adapters won't work, you have to bring it in through the network port.

3. If you can find one,
the wireless adapter sold for the original XBox works quite well. GameStop usually has them super cheap. If you find one and you want help setting it up, PM me.

5. Cheapest? A cheap, used Linksys set to bridge mode.
But it's not the easiest to set up, so YMMV.
