Poll question: Halo 2 or Half-Life 2?
Who will reign supreme in the first-person shooter realm?

1. Why not both?
They're on two different systems, and Halo 2 will definitely outsell Half-Life 2 simply because there are probably more X-Box users than hardcore PC gamers out there.
While Halo 2 will have more universal appeal because you can just buy it and plug it in, I must admit I'm of the opinion that all FPS games should be played with a mouse and a keyboard. ANd Half-Life 2 will have a lot of mods coming out for years to come.
In sales, Halo 2 will stomp all over Half-Life 2, vastly outselling Half-Life 2. We're talking billions and billions of dollars. *does best Carl Sagan imitation here.
In longevitiy, Half-Life 2 will be keeping the gamers' attention, if only for the modifications coming soon long after Halo 2 has been put back on the shelf in breathless anticipation for Halo 3.

Personal preference: I was waiting for Half-Life 2 more than Halo 2. I also don't own an X-Box, so that jaded my opinion a bit.

(If I had an X-Box, I would definitely be picking up Halo 2.)

2. They're both tremendously overrated.
But since HALO 1 was also overrated, I think Half life will do better.

Plus: Counter Strike.

3. And you can't trade HL2 in when you're sick of it

4. I'll second that sentiment.
F*cking Steam!

I don't think there's a single net cafe in NYC that has picked up on their ridiculous, greedy marketing scheme. Way to kill a social movement in its infancy, d00dz!

5. HL II end of story.
certainly Half Life 2 cannot compete with the initial impressions of its predecessor, but I'd wager to guess that even Half Life 1 would outperform and be more immersive than Halo II to someone accustomed to strictly console games.

Comparing Half Life II to Halo is. . . wait a second i should just shut up now before i start talking smack about 750mhz consoles cause I get to be a real asshole when i discuss consoles.
