GTA:San Andreas: "Pimpin'" ain't easy.
Edited on Sat Nov-13-04 10:44 PM by Beware the Beast Man
Does anybody have advice on how to get through the "Pimpin'" mission without punching out an unruly customer? Every time one of my ladies get's a John that gets rough with her, the subtitle tells me to "destroy him," which I do, instantly ending the mission. How do I get past this?

1. While I'm a PC-only gamer, here is a site that can help.
Go to www.planetgta.com for help with various quests, item locations, etc. In fact, all the "planet" sites are pretty good. They are run on gamespy servers, and usually have all sorts of stuff: mods, info, details on patches, etc.

2. Sweet, thanks!
The only trouble I have with other gamer forums is that there's always some jerk that puts a storyline spoiler in their subject heading. But I'll search carefully.

3. Don't look at the forums - look at the FAQ
Edited on Sat Nov-13-04 10:48 PM by AZCat
They have a Work In Progress FAQ there that has separate links to mission/storyline spoilers. It's pretty good for info, and will have more to come in the next couple of weeks.

On Edit: here's the link for the guide: GTA:SA Guide

4. Well, they didn't have it; and gamefaqs.com
didn't go into much detail, but my wife just said "Why don't you just wave your gun at him, and not shoot?". By golly, I think she may be right! I'm going to give it a try.

5. They didn't have it?
I apologize for sending you there without checking first.

Gamefaqs didn't have it either? Hmmm. I will check into this more. Let me know if you solve it.

6. gamefaqs.com has about a dozen GTA:SA writeups
Since it's a new game, a lot of them are incomplete, but pimpin's in there somewhere.

http://www.gamefaqs.com/console/ps2/game/36831.html

Here's what one author says about it:

Vehicle Mission #4 -- Pimping

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

This mission is new to the GTA series and you need a Broadway to do
this mission. A Broadway can usually be found around Unity Station
(just steal one from anybody) in North El Corona (near Little Mexico).
It is a 2 door convertible, they are pretty easy to spot, they look
like a Hermes from Vice City (and hear, they sound somewhat like a
Cheetah in Vice City).

This is similar to the Taxi missions except that you are only
transporting two people, your prostitutes. Its basically, pick up
one, drop her off, pick up the other and drop her off. After dropping
a girl off, there will not be a time limit to pick the other one up.
So if your car gets beaten up, you can take it to the Pay N' Spray
during that time.

Sometimes the customer and your girl starts fighting. When you
reach the scene, get out of you car and physically hit him. DO NOT
KILL HIM.

To complete this mission, you must successfully complete Level 10
(10 full transactions).

8. I had the same problems until I realized it's not talking about the John
at the recent drop off point. Look at you map and you should see are red square on it. That's where its happening. Drive to that point and the John will run away. What I do is just run him over with the car and that's that.

10. That's exactly what was happening.
I thought the CPU was referring to the current John. I never noticed the red triangle on the map until after I posted. Now I get paid for tricks!

9. Also, I would recommend the Brady Games official strategy guide for
San Andreas. It's really helpful and it shows you all the places where you can pick up weapons and armor and all of the Spray paint tag points.

"Life is a Beach" mission on the OG Loc strand ? Is it difficult to get 4000 points ?

13. Somehow I passed.
Patience and good timing is all it took. I got up to 6000 points once on a date with Denise.

15. practice bustin your moves in the night clubs, it's timing
in fact the drive to the lock up can be hairy as well because the party-goers chase you in their autos and you are driving a van, careful of traffic collisions. I think I blew up in flames a couple of times before I got to the lock-up.
