can i play old dos games on my xp platform?
is there software that can make this possible? i want to play holloween harry (alien carnage) but windows won't let me...bastards...

2. i downloaded dosbox
and now i can't figure out how to use it :0

i'm such a schmuck...i'll figure it out in a couple of days,

mount c c:\carnage

and then i don't know what to do...

3. I've only used it a couple of times (for Jagged Alliance), so I'm not an

expert.

Once in Dosbox use DIR/W to explore the mounted drive and go into a few levels. I recall something like Mydocume~1 being one of the folders that lead to where most of my files were stored in a handy way. Explore the dos environment until you find the right spot remember the following commands.

DIR/W to list the files you can go into

cd (DIRNAME) to enter DIRNAME Directory file.

cd.. to go down a level.

5. a ha i did it
just went from the z prompt and mounted the drive with this command

mount c C:carnage (hit enter)

then i was able to enter a c prompt at the z prompt like this

Z:\C: (hit enter)

then at the C prompt i entered

C:\carnage (hit enter)

everything played just fine...and i have the full version on disc....so no problems!

well there is one thing...it plays on a small screen...i have to figure out how to play it on a full screen...but i have hope now!

6. well i tried to get DESCENT to play
but so far no luck....
i guess the process is not uniform with all the different games...now i remember why i hated DOS...
