What Did You Play This Weekend? (4/17/06)
I thought this would be a cool little thing to do for a while and see what everyone is playing.

Oblivion: Not as much as the last couple weekends though. It was starting to suck me in so I put it down for a bit. Here is a hint though: don't take on the daedric Pyrite quest unless all of your stuff is 100% and your loaded up to the max. You can't get out of that Oblivion Plane (at least I haven't found a way)until you complete the quest.

BF2: Play every Sunday night with CrownPrinceBandar and Landaddy. Although Landaddy is currently MIA.

Halo2: Wanted to checkout its' backward comparability with the 360 and take a shot at beating it on legendary.

Project Gotham Racing 3: Haven't played this game for a couple of months but there's a tournament starting today and I want a free trip to Italy. It also gave me a chance to get my 6-year old interested in cars a bit and teach him a little about driving mechanics. He was surprisingly quick on the uptake.

Geometry Wars: Quick, easy and everyone can pick it up and play it.

Well that's what I was playing this weekend, how'bout you?

Jay

1. Oblivion
yeah, got totally sucked in. but managed to still do chores.

I find it hard to actually focus on the main quest, what with all these other things I have going on. I made my own quest: acquire enough cash to buy and furnish a house.

2. I Have To Admit That I Cheated A Bit.
There is a bug in the game that will allow you to acquire unlimited gold. I used it to buy and furnish my first house, the hovel on the waterfront of the Imperial City. I just couldn't bare dropping loads of enchanted items across the countryside anymore.

3. I played a few rounds of Quake 3 Arena.
One of my favorites and would've played it more over the weekend if I hadn't just bought...

Battlefield 2. Man, now THAT game is addictive. At first I couldn't get into it because I'm generally not a team player. I preferred the deathmatches and 1 vs 1. But once I understood the point capturing aspect and how important it actually is to work together as a team to win the map, I was hooked. Plus the point system makes it especially addicting. I bought the game a week and a half ago and already unlocked the shotgun for my Anti-Tank kit. Love this game! If anyone here has a favorite server, let me know and I'll drop in. Name is GatorboyFH.

5. You should join us.....
You're one of the fortunate few who have made the connection about playing as a team on BF2. I have generally found that my scores are markedly higher when I have a teammate watching my back. For example, when =DU= clan is whole, we usually take best squad award (unless there's some crazy good clan with a dude in a plane).

We also use a TeamSpeak server that Landdaddy set up. If you have a headset/mic (or are in the market for one), I encourage you to download TeamSpeak. It's free, uses little RAM and really makes team work alot easier and more natural. We skip around different servers some nights trying to find a good one, and TS keeps us connected. We pretty faithfully meet up on the TS server both Sun and Wed nights around 8PM EST.

If you don't want to get into TS, you can also check on our location by using the "Get Stats" search on BF2S and enter either "SidUNatural" for me, or ".mechanical" for Jayfish.

Hope to see you.

8. Team Speak is fine by me.
In fact I just bought a headphone/mic set over the weekend for that very purpose. I kept ketting requests to be squad leader but since I didn't have a proper way to communicate with them they left in droves. "Hey, where ya goin?? I gotta tank on my ass!" :P

Hey, do you have an addy for the server you guys frequent?

4. GTA San Andreas
Just to see how far I could get with the missions over the weekend.

I must have spent about four hours just stunting with the motorcycles alone.

I actually got used to the keyboard controls for the prop plane at the airport. FUN!

I played the game of my life (that's not saying much) on MP deathmatch. I won 2 matches and came in second twice also.

What made it cool was that I had all of about two hours experience playing online - total newb. All but 20 minutes of it on Farcry MP. (which is so damned manic I had to stop)

Something happened to my brain - I just got into a "zone" with this and kicked total ass. Other than that I'm a complete spaz with my fingers with other games, most of the time.

Oh, and I played a few levels of Quake4 as well. That game's graphics are superb!

7. Star Wars: Republic Commando
For like the 10th time. It's fun and shouldn't have any replay value, but I keep coming back to it. Maybe it's the music and the squad's bantering dialogue.

but I didn't want to get burned by yet another mediocre SW title. Is it a bargain binner yet?

13. Been playing Lineage 2, but for the life of me can't figure out why..
I don't really like the controls, the game doesn't have that much depth to it IMHO, mostly eye candy in that it does have some cool land scapes.

Yet here I am leveling up a dark elf mystic and wondering why I am playing it heh.
