A truly horrible depressing site
I just learned (you can guess how, but that isn't the main point) about an awful CT site called InfiniteUnknown. According to this site, Obama admitted in 1980 that he was born in Mombasa; Mossad collaborated with American insiders to perpetrate 9-11; and all Congress members should be tossed out except Ron Paul.

In particular, the site is virulently against 'Obamacare' and very clearly opposes any government involvement in healthcare, and any access to and use of 'conventional medicine'. Here are some excerpts:

'Our Congress has betrayed us (yet again). I believe that with perhaps the exception of Rep. Ron Paul, every single Senator and House Representative should be thrown out of office at the next election, stripped of their power and sent home to face their home-district families that they have now doomed to a lifetime of sickness, disease and pharmaceutical toxicity. Our national leaders claim to be voting on Health Care but what they really delivered was Hell Care, because dying of cancer while on chemotherapy while no doctor can legally tell you that vitamin D prevents 4 out of 5 cancers is, indeed, a living hell (or dying hell, in this case).

And speaking of Hell, the dark energies that have been provoked and called upon in this battle for pharmaceutical dominance over the “disease management” of the American population almost seems downright demonic, as if some evil power from other world had been summoned into Washington D.C. to ensure the passage of this legislation that practically guarantees another generation of pain and suffering at the hands of conventional medicine.

All the health solutions that really work — nutritional medicine, orthomolecular therapies, chiropractic medicine, Traditional Chinese Medicine and so on — have been locked out of the system while those therapies that promote a lifetime of disease have been locked in. And in this way, our Congress has now made certain that America as we know it today will not survive another generation — because no nation can achieve greatness when its people are drowning in toxic chemicals and degenerative disease.

We’ve got to save the America we love...

America doesn’t need more drugs, more chemotherapy, more mammograms, more vaccines and more nutritionally-ignorant doctors pushing more poison pills onto more uninformed patients. What this country needs is a grassroots health revolution that throws out the broken, failed system of pharma-medicine that doesn’t work and replaces it with a new system of healing, nutrition, patient education and personal health responsibility that would slash our health care costs and set our nation on a new path of health and prosperity.'

And from another article.

'The Senate bill is worse and does intend on killing babies with our scarce and hard earned money.

These two bills will be merged together and it is my common sense guess that they will go behind closed doors and merge these bills together with the forced option to fund abortion using YOUR money. Please people PRAY that this whole thing will miraculously get shot down.....

No matter what, you better believe that with everything else these Washington thugs do, they will go behind closed doors and do whatever they choose to do. AMERICA IT IS TIME TO TAKE ACTION!!

Healthcare is only a powerful stepping stone to their government takeover plan. Open your eyes America, they don’t care what “we the people” want or need, which is affordable and decent healthcare, they simply want control...

Though not opposed to healthcare reform most Americans do not want this KIND of reform which is a dangerous UN-AMERICAN UNCONSTITUTIONAL We want reform that makes sense and that is helpful for all not a destructive death warrant for the unborn and the elderly. We want government to stay out of our personal life decisions period. This is America !!'

It gets me down. Even though Britain has much less of this crap; but it has too much, as you'll have gathered from some of my other posts.

I HATE such people!

1. What I find even more disturbing...
is just how much of that language can be found right here on DU in the Health dungeon and elsewhere.

2. Its more proof that anti-science douchebaggery is NOT confined
to the right. I've had an ongoing battle with someone about how there is just as much scientific illiteracy on the left as on the right.

3. In fact, the site was certainly right-wing as well as anti-science
Though of a right-libertarian rather than standard Republican variety.

What bothers me is that some on the left are prepared to link to such anti-healthcare sites in defence of their opposition to Pharma, and then when you complain, they say you're blaming the messenger.

5. There are a lot of Ron Paul
People on this site . Shockingly sometimes. But there is a lot of stuff from there said on a daily basis here. Including I might add the insulting things said about Obama. I have a hard time distinguishing wingnuts of all stripes these days.

6. Don't get me started on Ron Paul!
Here's a link to my journal entry about him.

I think that there are a certain number of people who join progressive sites simply because they're against the Iraq war, and who may not be economically or socially progressive at all.

4. "All the health solutions that really work..."?
Sounds like some people in parts of DU, sadly.

Such stupidity.
