Huffington Post..dumb website, or the DUMBEST web site
Ummmm a story about an eclipse being a bad omen? REALLY? Did I die an wake up pre-enlightenment?

Wow. And people around here complain about Fox making people stupid? I'm sorry, but HuffPo contributes everybit as much to the dumbing down of the American people with junk like this, Dr. Mercola the snake oil shill, and the anti-vaxx wooery.

1. I would hesitate to call any site the dumbest.
One always seems to run into something even more ridiculous, eventually.

But, yes, HuffPo is ridiculous. Fox dumbs down politics, as well as science, while pushing the fantasy of a specific religion. HuffPo isn't too bad with politics, but it dumbs down science to no end, and it pushes the fantasy of several ridiculous religions/belief systems. Both, of course, confound science with their religious/fantasy lives.

Other headlines on that page:

Gahl Eden Sasson: Christmas Grinch and Mercury Retrograde

Michael Lutin: Obama in Russia on the Full Moon? Oh, Brother!

The Scientific Evidence for Psi Experiences

Will Cymbalta and Lyrica Be Vioxx II? (an article that mostly reviews the Vioxx story before offering up some ridiculous extrapolation in regard to Cymbalta and Lyrica)

Ugh.

Hey, have a wonderful day, anyway!

:hi:

3. Aren't those just the top threads in the Science forum right now?
Haven't been around for a week, but if you told me that those were the top threads in Science, I'd believe you without hesitation.

5. You are correct.
Ah, but it's anti-vaccine week (a monthly event) on the health forum.

10. Dumbest. Imma have to go with dumbest.
Any time I've every visited their site, I've always seen at least one article that's made me regret it. I sort of regard the HuffPo as an electronic version of Bill Maher, except less entertaining, but just as skeevy and preposterous when it comes to anything outside of politics.
