I don't understand how talking about criminal law is construed as offering legal advice.
I mean, so someone is conducting their own defense in a capital murder trial, and I post on teh internets to try to help them by identifying the relevant statues that they're interested in. I mean, I'm not a lawyer or anything, nor do I understand the ramifications of what I'm talking about, but I do read a lot and think I'm pretty smart about law. I don't understand what's so unethical about that. I bet it's a conspiracy by the defense lawyers to keep people from representing themselves in the courtroom. People should be able to make their own choices, and accept the consequences!

/tongue-in-cheek...

2. Don't worry, it's safe
Their friends are on the jury and the judge is their spiritual adviser.

What could go wrong?

19. Hmmmm.......

Looks like I'm going to have revise my standard retainer letter...

I usually expect a favorable ruling on the motions in my briefs.

12. Awww... man....

As an attorney, I'm really surprised at how often Judge Judy has no clue what the applicable law is.

13. Judge Judy ...
because the world needs more mean old ladies.

No clue & no longer a real judge - think there might be a connection?

22. Don't pee on my leg and tell me it's raining
ha ha ha. The show is ridiculous, I agree, but I find it 10,000,000^n degree more palatable than any other "judge" show - which I am forced to watch during the daytime doldrums because I work the night shift. Every week there's a new judge show.

Dr Phil followed by Judge Judy is the 2-hour power hour of my adulthood like the Incredible Hulk/Quincy 2-hour power hour was of my youth.

8. Posting on legal threads can be dangerous
because I've had people PM me asking for legal advice.

There's no legal forum here for a reason.

I sent some to paralegals and told the rest to pay the damn retainer to talk to a real lawyer.

11. You talk a pretty good fight.
I was satirizing, or attempting to, anyway, a thread that bemoaned another thread that was locked for offering medical advice. I think that legal advice is a pretty good analog to medical advice, in that both fields involve professionals that go through years of training, and that the misuse of either sort of advice can reap some pretty serious consequences.

16. I find your offensive to be offensive
I am far more persecuted than ANYONE. YOu will never know what it's like to be me, and I am insulted and offended that I would even THINK of explaining to you what it's like to be me. I am offended that you have caused me to be offended by me.

Did you know the word "satire" comes from the Ologonquin word "satire" which means "pasty white woman dressed up in black face singing Aye Carumba while pretending to be homeless, disabled, and belonging to an unidentified, yet harshly persecuted minority group"? BET YA DIDN'T KNOW THAT DID YA! So your use of the word "Satire" is offensive, as is the word "offensive" which is a Finnish word that originally means "I love dirty whores". HAH! I AM SO MUCH MORE OFFENDED...I mean HURT than you will ever be!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!111

If you can't use appropriate terms like non-traditionally hygienic sex workers, then why don't you just crawl back to freeperville.
