Where is everybody???? In the garden, I'll bet! Just picked some
wonderful lettuce. And, I finally found my 'tater seedlings! Better late than never!

1. I made my first square foot patch today
Finally knuckled down & got my hands in the dirt (instead of a container). I scraped out a square foot-sized plot, edging it with some paver stones that were lying around the yard (left over from the previous owner), filled it in with organic potting soil & put in 2 rows of carrots. Hopefully, it works. I've got beans & tomatoes going in some brick-edged beds the previous owner made as well.

2. Oh! Carrots! I have never been able to grow them before but tried
again this year. Really "worked" the soil. I pulled my first one today, just out of curiousity...it was very small but the taste is fabulous. Another one of those veggies that don't taste anything like what you buy in the store.

Best wishes for a wonderful harvest!

3. I found seeds that had been put in some sort of paper strips
Tried them out earlier in a containter & they're coming up ok, but I really wanted to see what would happen when I put them in a square. :)

The other times I've tried out carrots, I've had maybe 3 out of 9 come up & they're always very small. We'll see how this crowd does in a few weeks. :9
