I have peppers.
My serranos are producing like rabbits. But, is it normal for them to have variations in the color of the flowers and the color of the developing peppers? I have 6 plants. Three of them have produced white blooms with pale green fruit to start. One has purple flowers and a very dark green fruit. The other 2 have pink flowers and no fruit that I can see yet. I bought them all from the same place, stems and leaves all look alike and growth on all 6 is similar, just the flower and fruit colors are different.

I can't wait for them to mature and see what the flavor is like.

1. We plant a lot of peppers in pots

to put around the patio mostly for the foliage and color. We use them in salsa and my wife likes to stuff the jalapenos. I have some Pepperoncini seeds I'll be planting soon for late summer production. I'm not familiar with Serrano but I have some kind of chili pepper which we bought for the color and it has about four different colored peppers, very nice and very hardy. Only our Green Peppers are showing any signs of heat stress.

2. How interesting.
Some natural variation can be expected but you've got quite an assortment there. Our serranos always have white blossoms. The plants you bought may be natural or accidental crosses with an ornamental variety. Let some of the very dark peppers mature -- they may turn purple.

Our serranos produce like rabbits too. Six plants will produce a lot of peppers. Hope you have plans for pickling or making hot sauce. Red ripe serranos make an excellent hot sauce. The SO grows several plants just for this purpose.
