Garden Paths, Raised Beds, and Other Garden Tutorials
I was searching for ideas on how to raise vegetables using space-saving columns and came across this collection of "how-to's" by Sunset Magazine.

Here's the project main page.

http://www.sunset.com/home/outdoor-living/great-garden-details-00400000064298/

Lots of good ideas and garden eye candy. In the "weekend projects" section are some tutorials and one is on building raised beds.

2. I want to train my squash vines to climb a trellis
I have not yet figured out how to hang the spaghetti squash and butternut squashes from the trellis. Some sort of cross bar and an onion sack, I suppose. Does anybody know where I can get twenty onion sacks, pronto?

5. my new raised bed
is going to be a wattle. I found it in a gardening landscape book...it is sticks (in my case, rebar) poked in the ground with sticks (in my case, wild grape vines) woven through the stakes. I have the basis in and will be weaving the grape vines in a couple of days. If I can figure out how to upload my photos, I show some pics. I have been creating stone beds (we have millions of big rocks). The one this fits with is a rock bed, crescent moon shape and the wattle bed is round and fits in the center of the crescent...about 8 feet out. I am creating two more beds before I get the dirt delivered so, I will be ready for a later summer planting.

This is my first year in this garden and I am taking 3/4 acre of GRASS and turning it into a garden of beds and pathways. This is a few year project at least.
