Something curious that keeps happening to me (insights welcome).
This has actually been going on for a while. I can't explain it. Maybe someone here can.

Whenever I go into a retail establishment, (grocery store, coffee shop, metaphysical supply house) customers follow. Usually, it only takes a couple of minutes before they start pouring in after me. A local merchant once told me that she thought I was her "lucky charm" because of this phenomenon.

I have never consciously tried to bring business into people's stores through my energy field or powers of manifestation or what-have-you. But I have noticed that it happens.

Any thoughts?

1. Wow! I was wondering about the same thing
For many years, too. It is quite strange. Sometimes I think I am either out of sync with the rest of the people, or I am timed to act at the beginning of a collective.

Curious to see if anyone has some answers to that.

4. Huh. That's interesting that you're another "customer bringer."
You and I have a lot of the same stuff going on in our lives, I've noticed.

2. Do people flock around you other places?
Suppose you are at a gathering of people, like a big party. Do people tend to cluster around you, or near you? If so you are like a magnet, or your energy field is. That would make you the exact opposite of a psychic vampire.

But if it is just bringing customers to a store? I don't know. Could the universe be trying to tell you something? Like you need to go into sales and promotion or something?

3. I haven't noticed it happening other places. (But I would love to have the comfort of knowing
that I'm the exact opposite of a psychic vampire.)

5.  same thing happens to me
more in restaurants than stores, but in stores sometimes too. If I go into a totally empty restaurant, it will fill up within minutes.

I remember ~15 years ago, a couple of young Peruvians set up a little kiosk in the middle of the mall in the town where I lived, selling alpaca-wool jackets. First time I saw them, nobody was stopping at their shop. I stopped and started trying on jackets. By the time I went to buy one, half a dozen people were trying them on. Same thing happened a year later. I was happy to help their business. I still have the jackets -- they wear wonderfully and are incredibly warm. :D

6. Actually, I have noticed people running for the door whenever we walk in.
I always attributed it to the lack of a shower, but ya never know...

:dunce:

Sorry, now that I got that out of my system, I can answer you in a serious way. I think that some people put off a sort of positive vibe--energy if you will--that certain people are drawn to. I think maybe the types of stores you are attracted to probably attract those same people and it is a kind of chicken or egg question.

Just my theory.

7. I have a couple of other things in my life,
completely different from your attracting customers things.

I have chosen to interpret these things as evidence of a multi-deistic universe. In other words, monotheism doesn't quite cover all the explanations, but thinking that there are lots of different gods in charge of various different things works for me.

For instance, the parking gods like me. I can always get a good parking space. The parking gods even help out when I am simply a passenger in the car, not the driver.

The car accident gods like to toy with me and my vehicles, but the insurance gods always see to it that I, or my sons, are never at fault. A couple of years ago my sons (I have two) were in car accidents five days apart that totalled their vehicles, with no injuries, even minor ones, to anyone involved. Both accidents were the other driver's fault. Less than a year later the younger son was driving my car and in an accident which again, totalled the car he was driving (mine), no injuries, not his fault.

So apparently in your case the retail gods like you and will smile upon whatever retail establishments you enter.

Does this help? :)

8. I have experienced
that,as well. I've always attributed it to being intuitive enough to arrive before the crowd because I don't like crowds.

And, like Sheila, I also seem to have the parking spot blessing. That's always amazed me. But then, it may just be due to the fact that I arrived earlier than everyone else. Chicken, egg?

Interesting topic. I have known people who have the exact opposite sort of thing, and I was always glad not to be them.

12. In my case I've concluded that
there must be Parking gods and they really like me. I can drive into a parking garage that has a full sign and then someone will pull out of a space directly next to the doorway that I want to park close to. Just last night here in Santa Fe I went to see Amy Goodman, and didn't want to pay to park. Sure enough, someone pulled out of a parking space on the street just as I pulled up. And now it was 6pm so the meters were free. The parking lots charge 24/7.

On the other hand, the Employment gods are at best indifferent to me, as I'm not having much luck finding a job. :)

10. I agree, BI
I notice the similar experiences, too.

In my case, I also do not like crowds, as someone posted, but that is not the reason why I pick or enter a store or restaurant. Whatever the popularity level of a store or time, it just happens to be empty, and soon thereafter the stores get busy. My daughter oddly experiences this, too.
At parties or gatherings, people do not flock around me at all. So, the magnetic energy, as attractor, in my case, probably does not apply. Maybe we are adding to the energies of a store somehow? It does not feel like the people come in specifically attracted to me, as in: they look at me. Sure they see me, but it feels more like as a part of the whole store.

...but that still is not the answer.

14. I think you must be well balanced
and exude an air of authentic authority and calm self-confidence. You probably set a good example for people everywhere you go (possibly through very subtle body language) where your kindness shows in your actions and your thoughtfulness and reflectivity inspire others to trust you. Often, unless someone takes you aside to point these things out to you, a person doesn't notice all the nuance that makes that person him or herself.

15. Maybe you have perfect timing?
This happens to me quite often, and I just figure I have an innate ability to know when the crowds are going to be heavy and jump in ahead of them.

Nice, isn't it?

16. i've had similar experiences, especially with the dance floor
i figure someone has to break the ice, and i'm comfortable being different. afterwards people feel free to try something they previously shied away from. i think it does have something to do with the herd factor. some places have a stronger herd factor than others, too, i noticed.

17. Here's my theory
born today, after an interesting experience. My friends and I attended a Farmer's Market today and one of my friends (a new one, lucky me!) stated that something/an energy was blocking a booth we were standing near (she felt it). She said "that's too bad, she has some nice stuff". Then she got really quiet and a few seconds later people started going into the booth. My other friend said "here they come!" and the first one said-- "I just cleared it." She mentioned that other merchants will do that to each other-send a "stay out" energy to another competitor.

Maybe you clear them walking in? Or, maybe you have a stone on that clears them as you walk in?

19. Hmmm. If I'm clearing these stores, I'm not doing it consciously. I don't usually carry
rocks with me anymore, unless it's for a special purpose. But that's a good theory.

18. Its because you are entering into your heart chakra
You are awakening and entering into your heart chakra which is a higher vibration rate.
They are attracted to the energy even though they may not be consciously aware of it, the subconscious part of their mind is.
The more you awaken, the more you will have times where you experience this a lot..and sometimes to even more degrees, depending on how spiritual/centered you are at any given moment.
