Just so we all know who is whom, please let us know that you changed your name. I know that the new name is at the bottom of any of your posts, but I think that it would be nice to have one thread where we have this information. We can also celebrate your new name with you! :D

1. Journalgrrl = FirstLight
Inspired by Dover, and owned here by ME!

I think this is a new dawning - in so many ways:

New awareness in myself for the challenges I am healing, and goals I choose to make reality...
New world as we emerge into awakened reality and what that means for us one levels we don't even KNOW yet!

a mixture of liberation, excitement, hope and fear...

Blessed BE!

70. I really like your new name, it suits you
FirstLight conjures so much, as in after the darkness of the night the FirstLight gives perceptions {{Perception gives rise to two types of consciousness: phenomenal and psychological. The difference everybody can demonstrate to himself/herself by simple opening and closing his/her eyes. Phenomenal consciousness is full of rich sensations that are hardly present when eyes are closed. Psychological consciousness is well researched and measured. of things once hidden. }}

But with the FirstLight we start to see things more clearly.

:applause: Congratulations FirstLight :applause:

94. Caribbean Blue by Enya
Caribbean Blue

... Eurus ...

... Afer Ventus ...

... so the world goes round and round

with all you ever knew -

They say the sky high above

is Caribbean blue ...

... if every man says all he can,

if every man is true,

do I believe the sky above

is Caribbean blue ...

... Boreas ...

... Zephryus ...

... if all you told was turned to gold,

if all you dreamed were new,

imagine sky high above

in Caribbean blue ...

... Eurus ...

Afer Ventus ...

... Boreas

Zephryus ...

... Africus ...

72. Your new name reminds of a song by Lena Lovich
The angels are watching over me, constantly they say
The angles are always close to me in every game I play
And if I win or lose...
I know they'll see me through
The angels watch my every move

Confused and lost, like there's no way out
Till I see a light, shining from above
So I raise my head, to salute the sky
And I feel that light, take my spirt high

The angels are watching over me, constantly they say
The angles are always close to me in every game I play
And if I win or lose...
I know they'll see me through
The angels watch my every move

I could close my mind, to a lot of things
But tonight's the night, for remembering
There's a place for me, on the other side
When they call my name, for that final ride

The angels are watching over me, constantly they say
The angles are always close to me in every game I play
And if I win or lose...
I know they'll see me through
The angels watch my every move

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qIH78aq6Gps

Lena isn't your normal songtress, but I fell in love with her ever since I heard her back in the 80's.

Congratulations on your new name:hug:

84. Another song of Angel Wings
Journey Of The Angels by Enya

Somewhere
in a winter night
the angels
begin their flight;
dark skies
with miles to go,
no footsteps
to be lost in snow.

They fly to you
Oh, new-born king
They fly to you
Oh, angels sing

one is sorrow
one is peace
one will come
to give you sleep
one is comfort
one is grief
one will take
the tears you weep

New star
in a midnight sky
in heaven
all the angels fly
soft wings so true
and all things
they will give to you

Somewhere
in a winter night
the angels
begin their flight

Tonight
all sing
Oh, angels,
a new-born king
Tonight
all sing
Oh, angels
a new-born king

Congratulations on your new name.

Michael McDonald: Sweet Freedom

No more runnin down the wrong road
Dancin to a diffrent drum
Can't you see what's goin on
Deep inside your heart
Always searchin for the real thing
Livin like its far away
Just leave all the madness in yesterday
You're holdin the key
When you believe it

Chorus:
Shine sweet freedom
Shine your light on me
You are the magic
You're right where I wanna be
Oh sweet freedom carry me along
Well keep the spirit alive on and on

Well be dancin in the moonlight
Smilin with the risin sun
Livin like we've never done
Goin all the way
Reachin out to meet the changes
Touchin every shining star
The light of tomorrow is right where we are
There's no turnin back
From what Im feeling

Chorus:

Coz there'll be starlight all night
When we're close together
Share those feelings dancin in your eyes
Tonight they're guiding us
Shinin till the mornin light

5. In search of sanity -- Sanity Claws
While this new name isn't perfect, I picked it because it related to my earlier name and yet was kind of playful. I wanted to get away from anything that hinted that I was searching, lost, or otherwise not content with simply "being," at least for a while. I appreciate all the suggestions I received from fellow ASAH'ers

93. From a scene in the Marx Brothers' 1935 movie
A Night at the Opera. Groucho Marx is attempting to explain the intricacies of a business contract to Chico Marx. When Groucho mentions the Sanity Clause, Chico responds, "You can't fool me, there ain't no sanity claws."

Of course they spelled clause.

I like your spelling better. Congratulations, Sanity Claws:hi:

75. Grateful for Hope, the name says it all
A song from the Dixie Chicks

Sunday morning, I heard the preacher say
Thou shall not kill
I don't wanna, hear nothin' else, about killin'
And that it's God's will
Cuz our children are watching us
They put their trust in us
They're gonna be like us
So let's learn from our history
And do it differently

CHORUS:
I hope
For love, joy and laughter
I hope
We'll have more than we'll ever need
I hope
We'll have more happy ever afters
I hope
We can all live more fearlessly
And we can lose all the pain and misery
I hope, I hope

There must be a way to change what's going on
No, I don't have all the answers, but
I hope
For more love, more joy and laughter
I hope
you'll have more than you'll ever need
I hope
There'll be more happy ever afters
I hope
We can all live more fearlessly
And we can lose all the pain and misery, we can lose all the pain and misery

I hope, I hope

I hope
I hope
I hope

Congratulations on your new name Grateful for Hope:hug:

83. Another song of Hope by Enya
Hope Has A Place

one look at love

and you may see

it weaves a web

over mystery,

all ravelled threads

can rend apart

for hope has a place in the lover's heart.

Hope has a place in a lover's heart

Whispering world,

A sigh of sighs,

The ebb and the flow

of the ocean tides,

One breath, one word

may end or may start

a hope in a place of the lover's heart,

Hope has a place in a lover's heart.

look to love

you may dream,

and if it should leave

then give it wings.

But if such a love

is meant to be;

Hope is home, and the heart is free.

Under the heavens

we journey far,

on roads of life

we're the wanderers,

So let love rise,

so let love depart,

let hope have a place in the lover's heart

Hope has a place in the lover's heart.

Look to love

and you may dream,

and if it should leave

then give it wings.

But if such a love

is meant to be;

Hope is home, and the heart is free.

Hope is home, and the heart is free.

89. Fire Walk With Me, the lyrics to your new name
is there anything to ease the pain
to freeze my flame inside
or is it something I can wield
as the flowers wither, world is spinning,
I grow up on lies
you have changed or is it me

see my bridges burning
fire walk with me

so I build the mountains, blow the wind
and light the morning sun
am I far too much for you
now the final chapter opens
and I haste to free my mind
this is love and this is doom

see my bridges burning
fire walk with me

Very nice name change, Congratulations:hug:

87. A song for you by Howard Jones: Guardians of the Breath
They were guardians of the breath
Trusted with those precious chances
Keeping Gaia from the fear of death
Balances must be defended

To take only what they must
(Borrowed from the future)
Live in lovers of a global home
(Our children will remember)

Guardians slept while comfort came
The vapours poison, the acid rain fell
The spirit cut from earthly bounds
The creature stirred the pain

How much abuse can she take
(Awake from your dreamtime)
The lines are drawn our justice awaits
(Will the guardians surrender)

The forest bare, a desert born
The life pushed out
They sold her cheaply
All for a shilling for next weeks treat
A marvel that had taken ten thousand years

To take only what they must
(Borrowed from the future)
Live in lovers of a global home
(Our children will remember)

They are guardians of the breath
Trusted with those precious chances
They are guardians of the breath
Balances must be defended

I love your new name and I know from reading the other thread it was a good decision. Congratulations, Silver Gaia.

Shallah has always fit me more than my given name so I didn't want to release my claim on the Shallah pastlife part of me. She was closer to my true soul self than any other earthly incarnation I have been able to access. As I saw how much fun everyone had claiming or reclaiming parts of themselves it felt right to add the name of my spiritual Mother to my name here. If I ever legally changed my name as I have thought of at times it would be to this.

33. Love it. And it's not too far from discerning christian
to me, in the meanings, just more insightful. I really like that Janus is depicted with two heads, one looking backwards and the other forward; the past and future happening right now. Also Janus ruling entrance ways, hence seeing the interior and exterior of things. Both adding up to mean your powers of keen discernment and introspection are on the rise. Very similar to Gnosis. Excellent choice. :headbang:

78. Master of the Two Ways
Turning to their initiatory symbolism, Janus as the god of initiation has two keys, gold and silver, that represent the greater mysteries and the lesser mysteries, and the celestial and terrestrial paradises, respectively. Because Janus is also the master of the solstices, with ascending and descending cycles that begin at the winter and summer solstice respectively, he is also the Master of the Two Ways to which the solstice gates give access, the ways of the right and the left, which the Pythagoreans represented by the letter "Y," represented exoterically in the myth of Hercules as the ways of virtue and vice.

In Hindu tradition, these same two ways are termed the "Way of the Gods" (deva-yana) and the "Way of the Ancestors" (pitri-yana). The symbolism of Ganesha has many parallels with that of Janus. He, too, is the Master of the Two Ways and therefore Lord of Knowledge, echoing the idea of initiation into the mysteries. Finally these two ways could be construed as those of the heavens and of the hells. However, for seekers, these two ways are part of an initiatory process, the right side representing ascension into heaven and the left, descent into hell—cycles of purification that the seeker must undergo.

I like your new name it really suits you. I think since you feel the difference that you made the right choice:hug:

76. A mantra from the newly named WhiteTara
Om Tare Tuttare Ture Mama Ayuh Punya Jñana Pustim Kuru Svaha

White Tara (Sitatara) is associated with long life. Her mantra is often chanted with a particular person in mind. She’s another representation of compassion, and she’s pictured as being endowed with seven eyes (look at the palms of the hands, soles of the feet, and her forehead) to symbolize the watchfulness of the compassionate mind.

And it appears I took it right from your post. I'm celebrating the election and I am celebrating life, and it is not just me any more!! We'll all get used to these name changes.

My first attempts were so weak. No wonder you guys voted for me to keep the old name. I finally narrowed it down to either KarmaKarmaKarma, which I actually say all the time, and Celebration. I can't believe that wasn't taken. Lots of things I thought about were already being used, such as OmShanti.

I figure that just about everyone is capable of celebration, too, at least once in awhile.

Honestly I was a little stressed out about the whole name change thing, to the point where I just stopped even commenting about names. Somehow I knew it would come to me. I should have thought about it earlier because that was the theme of the Photography contest a month or two ago. Anyway, I feel relieved.

why syzygy?
The alignment of two or more celestials bodies, as the moon and the sun are in alignment vis-a-vis the earth during an eclipse. Conjunction of ideas.

81. The Blue Flower
It stands for desire, love, and the metaphysical striving for the infinite and unreachable.

Van Dyke, Henry, 1852-1933. The Blue Flower

"It was not what he told me about the treasures," he said to himself, "that was not the thing which filled me with so strange a longing. I am not greedy for riches. But the Blue Flower is what I long for. I can think of nothing else. Never have I felt so before. It seems as if I had been dreaming until now -- or as if I had just slept over into a new world.

"Who cared for flowers in the old world where I used to live? I never heard of anyone whose whole heart was set upon finding a flower. But now I cannot even tell all that I feel -- sometimes as
happy as if I were enchanted. But when the flower fades from me, when I cannot see it in my mind, then it is like being very thirsty and all alone. That is what the other people could not understand.

"Once upon a time, they say, the animals and the trees and the flowers used to talk to people. It seems to me, every minute, as if they were just going to begin again. When I look at them I can see what they want to say. There must be a great many words that I do not know; if I knew more of them perhaps I could understand things better. I used to love to dance, but now I like better to think after the music."

I like the story that you referenced, and I love that you chose it as your new name, Congratulations The Blue Flower:hug:

85. This song is about Dracula, however that isn't the only connection to mist
But I kinda liked the lyrics.

(Lucy):
My soul was floating above a moonlit sea,
At the same time I was drowning, it felt somehow freeing,
Enraptured by his eyes, the burning eyes of a supreme hypnotist,
I followed him into the mist.
The dogs were howling, or was it just a dream?
And when he appeared beside me I wanted to scream,
But I had lost my voice, I had no choice,
I had no will to resist, I drifted away with the mist.
There was a singing in my ear, and then he started speaking,
His voice caressed me through and through,
He spoke about all kinds of things, I wish I could remember,
But mostly he asked about you.

(Mina):Me?

(Lucy):
He spoke about you, as if he knew you well.
Whispering your name in silence and casting his spell.
The fear and the desire, I was on fire, the ground moved as we kissed,
we melted away in, spent all night and day in,
I wish I could stay in the mist.

Mist makes a beam of light visible from the side via refraction and reflection of the suspended water droplets.

Congratulations on your new name change:hug:

86. A song by Loreena McKennitt
Beneath A Phrygian Sky :
The moonlight it was dancing
On the waves, out on the sea
The stars of heaven hovered
In a shimmering galaxy

A voice from down the ages
So in haunting in its song
These ancient stones will tell us
Our love must make us strong

The breeze it wrapped around me
As I stood there on the shore
And listened to this voice
Like I never heard before

Our battles they may find us
No choice may ours to be
But hold the banner proudly
The truth will set us free

My mind was called across the years
Of rages and of strife
Of all the human misery
And all the waste of life

We wondered where our God was
In the face of so much pain
I looked up to the stars above
To find you once again

We travelled the wide oceans
Heard many call your name
With sword and gun and hatred
It all seemed much the same

Some used your name for glory
Some used it for their gain
Yet when liberty lay wanting
No lives were lost in vain

Is it not our place to wonder
As the sky does weep with tears
And all the living creatures
Look on with mortal fear

It is ours to hold the banner
Is ours to hold it long
It is ours to carry forward
Our love must make us strong

And as the warm wind carried
Its song into the night
I closed my eyes and tarried
Until the morning light

As the last star it shimmered
And the new sun's day gave birth
It was in this magic moment
Came this prayer for mother earth

Reprise:

The moonlight it was dancing
On the waves, out on the sea
The stars of heaven hovered
In a shimmering galaxy

A voice from down the ages
So in haunting in its song
The ancient stones will tell us

74. Why Syzygy
Edited on Fri Jan-30-09 05:54 AM by Why Syzygy
Okay, I've done it. Don't know how I feel yet. Heart is pounding though.

I would have been happier if just Syzygy was available. Even though it doesn't appear in profiles, the name changer told me it was taken.

This is truly a perfect word, if ever there was one. (Not that I am, in case anyone is in doubt :P) Tonight was the first time I ever *consciously* read it, though I'm sure I've skipped over it at sometime or other.

I was reading this:
The Syzygy (Divine Couple)

If one comes to terms with the Shadow and the Soul, one will encounter the enchanted castle with its King and Queen. This is a pattern of wholeness and integration. The opposites of the outer and the inner life are now joined in marriage. Great power arises from this integration. Christ and the Church, God and Israel are syzygy images. The believer who aspires to be the "bride of Christ" is modeling his or her experience in response to the syzygy archetype.
http://www.iloveulove.com/psychology/jung/jungarchetypes.htm

Here is a great page about it>>
http://www.answers.com/syzygy
I love it because it has so many applications.

Evidently, if you play Super Scrabble, it is maintained to be the highest scoring stand-alone, no bonus points word at 27. Regular Scrabble only has two "Y" tiles, so the count wouldn't be as high.

There's a band >>
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hwBvFnbCqAk&feature=channel_page
And I happen to like ambient, techno-trance music. So there ya go.

How to make it unique so DU would accept it? I considered "27", which would be appropriate for a total of perfect "9". But, I really don't like numerals mixed with words. It's the shortest word in the English language with three "y"s. And, without knowing the term, it is something I think about ALL THE TIME. Unity. Community. I ask a lot of questions, "why". And, I like the little play on the phonetics "why" "y".

Is my word geekiness showing?

Ever Present Edit:
btw, it matches my avatar :D

95. heee!
Never thought of 'Sis' . but I like that too! Was thinking I would be going by "Y". Either is fine.

Thank you! You know, I'm feeling different, as reported by everyone so far. Stronger.

For the past eight years (in December), I have been on a conscious quest for integration. Is that the Fool's Journey? I remember distinctively. In the fall of 2000, I gave up all expectations of being a "real Christian". It just didn't fit me, and I could not go on pretending. A few months later, I gained my earnest desire for Integration. Eight years later, to the month, I returned to a brand new walk of faith. Eight is the number of manifestation. It's a different path in many ways, so "return" may not be the best descriptor.

There are many facets revealing themselves as I go along here. That's what makes it so much fun!
It was also this past December when I started remembering dreams again. I set an intention each night to REMEMBER. Now, sometimes I wish I didn't! Still dream of the "bad guys" (shadow), which is still scary. But, last week I dreamed that I regained all my eyesight. I believe in the possibility, and have for quite awhile. That one, was one I want to remember.

99. The walk of faith with new eyes
What a wonderful dream you had! Yes this new name defines and animates your 'walk' so beautifully!

And I love your word play with the letter 'Y' as well. It too has an ancient and sacred heritage:

The Pythagorean Y
We come now to the Pythagorean Letter Y (Littera Pythagorae Y), which is perhaps less well known nowadays than the other Pythagorean symbols, but has been quite influential in European art, literature and thought. Before discussing its meaning, it's necessary to explain that our letter Y was borrowed into the Roman alphabet from the Greek letter Y (upsilon) in order to spell Greek words (Z was imported for the same reason). Upsilon was a Greek addition to the Phoenician alphabet, but based on the Semitic letter waw. Thus the earliest form of upsilon was similar to the Semitic letter: a line sloping steeply upward to the right, with a shorter line or hook going more gradually up to the left from the middle of the longer (something like our y) (Jeffery 24-5, 35). Upsilon became the twenty-second letter of the archaic Greek alphabet (after T), and was the last letter until Phi, Chi, Psi and Omega were added. All this is relevant to the proper interpretation of the Pythagorean Y.
According to a legend, Y was called "the Pythagorean letter" (littera Pythagorica) because he himself had been responsible for adding it to the Greek alphabet (Persius/Conington 61n56; Persius/Gildersleeve 130-1nn56-7; Persius/Koenig 81nn56, 240n56). Aside from being the first letter of Hugieia (`UGIEIA) (Hadot 9), it was given a specific meaning, as explained by Isidore of Seville (c.560-636 CE, Etym. I.iii.10-16; tr. in Heninger, Touches 269):

Pythagoras of Samos was the first to fashion the letter Y into a pattern of human life. The straight portion at the bottom signifies the first, uncertain age, which at that point has been given over to neither vices nor virtues. The bifurcation at the top, however, begins at adolescence. The path to the right is difficult, but it tends toward a blessed life. The path to the left is easier, but it leads to ruin and destruction.
The same idea is expressed in an epigram traditionally (but probably incorrectly) attributed to Virgil:

The Pythagoric Letter two ways spread,
Shows the two paths in which Man's life is led.
The right-hand track to sacred Virtue tends,
Though steep and rough at first, in rest it ends;
The other broad and smooth, but from its Crown,
On rocks the Traveler is tumbled down.
He who to Virtue by harsh toils aspires,
Subduing pains, worth and renown acquires;
But who seeks slothful luxury, and flies
the labor of great acts, dishonor'd dies.

(Stanley 565) with modernized spelling and punctuation. Latin text of Maximinus (pseudo-Virgil) in Anthologia Latina, 652 Riese; Panofsky, Hercules 66-7. Chapman (Bartlett ed., 234-5) has translated it in "Virgil's Epigram of this Letter Y." Petrarch (Epist. III.32) and the famous Meistersinger Hans Sachs also paraphrased it (Panofsky, Her. 66-7).]

The opposition of "the steep and thorny way to heaven" and "the primrose path of dalliance" (Hamlet I.iii.47) is an old theme (it has Sumerian and Norse parallels, West, W&D 229). As Hesiod (fl. 700 BCE) wrote in his Works & Days (West, W&D 229):

Whereas to take a hold of Vice, in plenitude,
is easy, for the way is smooth, and near she dwells;
yet sweat was placed in front of Virtue by the gods
undying; and the road to her is long and steep,
and rough at first; yet when one has attained the peak,
indeed the way is easy, which was very hard.

(I have used the conventional translations Virtue and Vice for Aretê and Kakotês, although the meanings are closer to excellence, goodness, nobility, merit, success, as opposed to baseness, wickedness, badness, cowardice, failure. Hesiod's intent is more concrete and practical than later, moralistic interpretations (LSJ s.v. aretê, kakotês; West, W&D 229; Tandy & Neale 80, 82).)
Pythagoras was probably the first to use the archaic y to symbolize this "parting of the ways" (Bivium). The right-hand path is straight, and in this sense natural (i.e., in accord with Nature), but it is narrow and ascends steeply. The left-hand path, in contrast, is a deviation from "the straight and narrow," and therefore against Nature. However, it is wider and an easier slope, and therefore a more attractive choice (Persius/Conington 61nn56-7; Persius/Gildersleeve 130-1nn56-7; Persius/Koenig 81nn56, 240n56-7). (We can see this even in our printed Y.)

The same myth of the parting of the ways and the two paths (upward to the right for the virtuous, downward to the left for the wicked) also appears in descriptions of the progress of the soul between incarnations (e.g., Plato's "Myth of Er," Rep. X.614b-621d, and Plutarch's Face in the Moon, 943-4). The good go to the Fields of Elysium, but the wicked to the Pits of Tartarus.

Closely related to the Pythagorean Y, and often associated with it in art, is the myth of "Heracles' Choice," which Xenophon heard from Socrates, who credited Prodicus the Wise with it (Xenophon, Memorabilia II.i.21-33). The gist of the story is this: When the adolescent Heracles (Hercules) was deciding which path to take in life, he was approached by two goddesses, "Vice" (Kakia) and "Virtue" (Aretê), coming along the paths. Lady Vice attempts to entice Heracles to a life of ease, but Lady Virtue encourages him to follow the more difficult path leading to a blessed life with the gods. They are the Kakodaimôn (Evil Spirit), the guide on the Way of Death (Via Mortis) toward misery (dusdaimonia), and the Agathodaimôn (Good Spirit), the guide on the Way of Life (Via Vitae) toward true happiness (eudaimonia). Heracles chose to follow Lady Virtue. It is perhaps not so well known that in the ancient world (especially among the Stoics), and later in the Renaissance, Heracles was considered a liberator, savior and moral hero (Smith 293; Heninger, Touches 271). The image of "Heracles at the Crossroads" was already common by the third century CE (according to Philostratus, Life of Apollonius of Tyana VI.x, Smith 294). Raphael's Dream of Scipio (1500) is a more recent example. In many tarots (e.g. the Marseilles deck, but not the Pythagorean), the "Lovers" trump shows a young man faced with a choice between the Ladies Vice and Virtue.

We have completed an overview of the exoteric meaning of the Pythagorean Y, and now will consider its esoteric meaning, for the Y originally represented the choice faced by Pythagorean initiates at a certain stage of their initiations. The choice is between the Active Life (Vita Activa) of the ordinary person on the left and the Contemplative Life (Vita Contemplativa) of the initiate on the right. Clearly, from the Pythagorean perspective, the right-hand path is preferable, although more arduous. The choice is between ignorance and enlightenment, between indulgence of the appetites and development of the mind, between worldly and spiritual pursuits, between the quests for earthly success and divine wisdom. Thus we may say that the Pythagorean Y represents the power of choice and the commitment to take responsibility for, and conscious control of, your life's purpose and direction (Hall lxvi-lxvii; Drucker 111).

This interpretation of the Pythagorean Y is clearly judgmental and may seem moralistic: the right-hand path is the better; this was part of the message the ancient Pythagoreans offered to their time. Indeed, it is a symbol of Virtue (Chew 177), for it also represents raising the arms in celestial invocation (Koch 6-7). However, as previously discussed (see Alchemy), Pythagoreanism developed into alchemy, which offers a more balanced approach, better suited to our age, which synthesizes the opposites into a higher unity, rather than suppressing one for the sake of the other. Already in antiquity, but especially in the Renaissance, people began to realize the importance (and difficulty!) of uniting the active and contemplative lives (Smith 300-3). Therefore we see the significance of the modern Y: it represents the union of opposites in a complete life. Recall that Y (Upsilon) is the initial of UGIEIA (Hugieia), which means soundness and wholeness. In general, the symmetric Y represents the alchemical principle of the differentiation of a primordial unity (the stem) into a consciously discriminated opposition (the arms), which is but a manifestation of the underlying unity. (See 21.World for more on the Y in this sense.)

This brings us to the form of the Y used in the Pythagorean Tarot back design: three equal arms. In addition to the preceding meanings, the Pythagorean Tarot Y symbolizes what Paracelsus called the Tria Prima (Primal Triad), the alchemical union of (philosophical) salt, mercury and sulphur, that is, of body, soul and spirit. It also represents the meeting of three ways (called Triodos in Greek and Trivium in Latin), a place especially sacred to Hecate, a very important Goddess for Pythagoreans (Opsopaus, "Anc. Grk. Eso. Doctr. Elem.," part IV; Kingsley, APMM chs. 16-19). (For more on the Pythagorean Y, see 21.World .)

In summary, the card back design represents the first five Pythagorean numbers. The card back as a whole is the primal unity, the Monad. The two opposed pentacles are the primary duality, the Dyad. The three-armed Pythagorean Y represents the unified Triad. The Tetractys, built as it is on 1, 2, 3, 4, is the elementary Tetrad. Finally the pentagram represents the Pentad, and, together with its surrounding pentagon, it represents the Decad, the Pythagorean number of Perfection. Many other relationships will become apparent if you look for them, but that is enough for now.

For those of you old enough to remember, Buelah Witch (see my icon) was one of Burr Tillstrom's Kuklapolitans. She was a "modern woman" who wasn't afraid to try new things. She didn't always succeed, but at least she tried. She was also a bit naughty, but alot of fun. I admire her chutzpah (and the fact that her creator did not make her an evil witch), and perhaps wish to move out of my comfort zone a little, so I changed my name.

136. Flying Dream Blues here! Formerly ThruTheLookingGlass
I have been considering this for several days and have almost changed it a million times. What's funny is I just thought of this one a few minutes ago and just went with it.

The name comes from my frequent flying dreams...where I can just take off at will and it's so easy and feels so wonderful. I've even told myself to remember how when I'm awake, that it's not hard, just remember. The blues part is that feeling of being earthbound when you just KNOW you can fly. :)

I think I'll like this one... I had so many contenders! I knew I wanted to change since TTLG was such an impulsive choice and I never liked it, and just never dreamed DU would become such a home for me. It was actually making me a little crazy, so with the deadline looming, I just jumped in.

Traditionally, Matariki (translated as tiny eyes or eyes of God) occurred at the end of harvest and was a time to celebrate, prepare the land for planting, renew associations with whānau and friends, reflect on the past and set goals for the future. Matariki – a cluster of stars also known as the Pleiades or the Seven Sisters.

150. LOL !!
Yes.....thank you dear. Have you read her book by any chance? I know I have a copy around here somewhere, but can't find it. I want to read it again!!! You beat me to it, 'cause I was lurking over at GD. I don't know what's wrong with me lately, but little things like this are beginning to worry me. My Mom had Alzheimer's from her mid sixties until she passed at age 86. I figure I'm safe with my Dad's dominant genes. His mind was clear as a bell when he left this world the year before she did. I've hit 70, so it's either uphill or down from here.(but NEVER over the hill) hee hee!

152. Oh, JanusAscending, we all have times where the memory goes.
It happens to me a lot. I think that life's just too busy -- there's not enough room for it all in our heads. (At least that's my excuse.) :)

I haven't read her book, but I've read some other books about the Pleaides. I've always been intrigued by them. I hope that you find your book soon, JA.

Good night!

:)

151. a book suggestion for those intrigued by Pleiadians
The Pleiadian Workbook: Awakening Your Divine Ka by Amorah Quan Yin
http://www.amazon.com/Pleiadian-Workbook-Awakening-Your-Divine/dp/1879181312

See if your local libray has a copy here: http://www.worldcat.org/isbn/1879181312

While some of her personal/channeled stuff doesn't resonate with me the exercises *work*. IT also has excellent section on basics like grounding and clearing personal energy & home space who's importance is sometimes sadly overlooked in my personal opinion. But then I am empathic and more holey than holy so bad vibes wreak havoc on me still.

156. If you get it be sure to check out the Love Configuration Chambers of Light
as soon after doing the preliminary exercises as you feel comfortable doing. What it boils down to is inviting beings of light to beam their unconditional love at you and help you let it in. I admit it hurts a bit at times as blockages around my heart break off and feelings of unworthiness surface but still it is such a beautiful thing to experience to feel that total love and acceptance. I do not have the words to do it justice. when you do the amazon peek inside thingy search for the chapter on Love Configuration Chambers of Light to read about it before ordering.
