A way to share light and compassion without being depleted

I was thumbing through a copy of the book Instant Magick by Christopher Penczak when I came across the spell he named Well of Compassion. Basically one asks the aid of a being of Light (Kwan Yin, Tara, Angels, etc) to send compassion through your heart to everyone around you. He suggested picturing your heart as a well overflowing with the energy. Unfortunately this is one of the books that doesn't get a sample on google books or I would post the link here with the details. I would suggest when doing any process like this that you prepare yourself in whatever way you normally would for energy work such as grounding, reinforcing your aura so only healthful energies are exchanged (shielding), etc. I like to picture the energy I channel coming into my crown, flowing down to my heart chakra, leting some go all the way down my grounding roots into the earth, and then the rest flowing out my hands for healing. For compassion I would go ahead and let it directly out my heart. If it helps picture the being(s) you ask for help placing their hands over your head letting the energy flow into you there or right behind your heart beaming divine compassion from their's directly into yours. Remember to use colors if that helps the visulization as well such as green for any sort of healing, green and pink for divine love and compassion, violet to transmute negativity, etc. I would suggest always specifying that all of this takes place at a comfortable rate for you esp. if you are a space cadet like me and tend to blast off into the ozone when energy gets intense. Once the energy is flowing I would ask that it continue as long as appropriate for all concerned, thank the one I asked for help and then go on with my day.

2. I have almost all his books ...

... and he really knows how to take the esoteric and bring it into the everyday practical. He's a great guy - very prolific writer but well worth the time and investment. He even has a book on Reiki Magick that's very cool.

(Been thinking about the when & if about getting out there again to look at men and date, I SO want to attract that kind, compassionate, spiritual and yummy, male into my space...)

I had never heard of this writer before, thanks for sharing I will ahve to do some research. I especially enjoy the idea of the colors for the type of compassion you want to readiate, and the violet flame for dispersing negativity. Sometimes it is nice to know that others use the same tools and colors, even if they come from a different practice!

5. Try looking for like minded individuals thru Meetups

try using meetups, Metaphysics, spiritual, magic and see what you can come up with. Maybe you can find some friendship or someone to become more than friends with.

6. I really like Penczak. he is an eclectic witch and not afraid to work with different traditions

such as combining Reiki with wicca. If it works and doesn't harm anyone use it. I love his Magick of Reiki and found The Witch's Shield *very* useful when I was dealing with some deep dark creepy x-files-ish stuff. He reccomends all empaths get attuned to Reiki and as I found when I finally did that it really does help oh so much.

Speaking of finding Mr Right my therapist/mentor has suggested to me (and I keep putting off) making a list of qualities I want in my future mr. shallah (such as similiar spiritual path, complimentary sense of humor, loves cats) and then giving it to the Universe to connect me when the time is right for both of us. right now I am focusing on dealing with my issues so so when the time is hopefully right I won't block the chance thinking that no one in his right mind would really want someone with all of my flaws.
