Are you paying attention to your 12 Days of Christmas dreams?
Edited on Mon Dec-29-08 02:22 PM by crikkett
Dover posted a link to http://www.wisdom-of-astrology.com/capricornnewmoondecember27,2008">Wickfordbard's latest newsletter a few days ago. The last line was:
Are you paying attention to your 12 days of Christmas dreams? They represent the 12 astrological months – they are a prophetic tools available to you during this season of endings and beginnings.

This piqued my curiosity as I never heard about the connection before. So I googled and got this info through http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Twelve_Holy_Days">wikipedia. It seems to be by an author named Merry Battles, I don't know whether this is a good source or not:

The Twelve Holy Days
Holy Day -- Zodiacal Hierarchy
December 26 -- Aries
December 27 -- Taurus
December 28 -- Gemini
December 29 -- Cancer
December 30 -- Leo
December 31 -- Virgo
January 1 -- Libra
January 2 -- Scorpio
January 3 -- Sagittarius
January 4 -- Capricorn
January 5 -- Aquarius
January 6 -- Pisces

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=245x81336">So far all this info has been pulled from Dover's original thread.

I've noticed a number of dreams being posted recently, so I plan to consolidate them here to see if a pattern emerges. Feel free to join in!

5. Dream about Obama
Last night/this morning I dreamt that PE Obama is surrounded by women -- women who guard him jealously and who are very careful which women have access to him.

Women were trying to help O. and give him advise but any woman who was alone with him -- not alone in a room, but alone within view yet out of earshot of anyone else -- raised a chorus of whispers, was suspected of trying to seduce him, and became very unpopular. There was one in particular, a young, very attractive aide.

I thought maybe they were worried about a new Lewinski, and laughed because I had something to say to him too, but he reminds me too much of my younger brother to be um, my type.

I haven't dreamt of a president since Bill Clinton, when he sat under a tree and explained to me wtf his excuse was (it was a pre-Lewinski letdown on a difft topic and for the record I didn't buy his excuse but appreciated his attempt). Maybe that's the Lewinski connection in my mind.

6. Obama dream by Dover
http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=245&topic_id=81336&mesg_id=81345

I ALSO had an Obama dream just the other night which surprised me a little. While I was late to the fanclub (and still question some of his choices), I do feel a very deep affinity with him which has been kind of confusing on one level since as I said, I see his human side and the traps of power and a deeply corrupt system in which he is operating and have been cautious about expectations. I do feel that my energies are beginning to align now with him however. Slowly.

In the dream I'm not sure where we were (professional setting like an office), but there was a very deep and abiding affection between us. Not sexual in any way. It seemed to come out of a
soul recognition and respect for one another, although it did occur to me that others might interpret it differently...lol. And I felt very protective of and empathetic with him and his mission. End of dream (it was like a glimpse of a moment).

I peeked at Obama's chart and it just so happens that this Mars/Pluto/Moon conjunction in Cap is transiting his 11th House (friendships, group goals, etc) and is opposing his natal Venus which is in his 5th House (romance, self expression, children, among other things).
Jealousy? Uh huh, certainly a potential problem. Hmmmm.... no doubt a big challenge for Michelle
and the girls who must now share him with the world.
And Pluto will be sticking around for awhile in that opposition which certainly can arouse some significant sexual energies that are hard to resist or deny.
Uh boy....this will also be a test for Barrack. Love can be transformative, but with Pluto there is often something taboo about it. While society may not approve, it is truly not for us to judge. Jung had an ongoing affair with a woman whom he very rationally and clinically identified as his anima which I'm sure felt like a soul connection to both of them. Who knows. But they fed
each other in their mutual work.

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=245&topic_id=81336&mesg_id=81364

Honestly, I'm still pondering our dreams about Obama and how similar they are in their message.
While they can be interpreted as our personal thoughts/feelings about Obama, I'm starting to
wonder if perhaps we both intuitively picked up on some personal event he's going through (which also might become public). Hope not. But the astrological info certainly points to that possibility.

Of course that astrological aspect could be interpreted a number of ways and relate
to a number of types of circumstances from intimate to more public power issues. The houses (5th and 11th), for instance, might suggest he is not wanting to compromise his personal vision with
that of the 'group's', or he might have to re-evalute some of his old and new friendships or deal
with petty jealousy and disagreements within his immediate circle. And then there are world events
and high level relationships with foreign and domestic persons, disagreements and power plays.

7. SocratesInSpirit dreamt about a tower collapsing
Great discussion about it here: http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=245x81324

I know the tower is a tarot symbol, but I don't know much about it, so I thought I'd post it here.

I dreamed my husband and I were staying in a hotel that was either a twelve- or twenty-story stone tower. Our room was on the top floor. I was nervous because the tower kept swaying, and stones kept breaking off at the third story and falling to the ground. I was the only one worried about this - everyone else was acting like things were fine. But I took my husband and we hustled outside, and soon after the tower cracked off at the third story, the top crashing to the ground. I asked if anyone had been injured or killed, but the hotel's desk clerk just shrugged. She did say we wouldn't be charged for any additional nights, since the remains of our room were now strewn all over the parking lot. Weird...

8. LiberalEsto dreamt about a collapsing tower
http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=245x81324#81334

I dreamed there were upper floors above my house (which don't exist in real life) and that I was exploring them and finding all kinds of horrible tacky 1960s-70s junk left by the previous owners (who moved out 10 years ago). Our house is actually a rambler, but I dreamed it was a high-rise.

In my dream the building began swaying, just a little at first, and then began to slowly collapse. My family and I got out safely, and so did other residents on upper floors. But I can't recall why it was shaking or what happened next, only that the place was surrounded by emergency vehicles.

Later on, in http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=245&topic_id=81366&mesg_id=81377">UndergroundPanther's synchronicity thread she posited that her dream may have been related to a nearby earthquake

I did some looking-up and found that people reported feeling it in Gaithersburg and Mt. Airy, MD. We live right outside Gaithersburg, so I probably did feel the quake when I dreamed about the tower collapsing. It amazes me how our unconscious minds can create a dream-story to account for some phenomenon that happens while we sleep.

13. A very troubling dream
that someone very close to me was a serial killer, and I found out about it. This was so devastating, as it was someone I love and admire very much, and it turned out that they were not at all the person I thought they were. I knew I had to expose the person since they live with someone else I love and that person would be in danger if I didn't.

This one stuck with me and is still making me sick when I think about it.

15. Dream of a Math Test, moving.
I wrote this offline to Dover the other day, asking if she thought this dream thread was a good idea...

My dream this morning, was that we were getting ready
to move out of a large and beautiful house, and were selling
off/giving away stuff. I had to take a math test (i'm 15 yrs
out of school by the way) on the computer and failed in my
first attempt. The three initial problems were to draw a
square, draw a triangle, and give the value of PI. I couldn't
get past drawing the square because when I tried to get
precise measurements, the program would crash. eventually I
gave up on the test, because I remembered that I could simply
sign my name and still pass the class.

Others were in the house with me. Someone asked from another
room where the spaceship was. I looked out a window and it -
The Enterprise, no less, at a scale of about 2x or 3x an RV -
was parked among redwoods behind the house, surrounded by a
flock of live pink flamingoes. I hollered that it was hidden
in the backyard. We left the house to meet up with other
roomates who were holding our rummage sale across the street.
I see another computer and sit down to it to try to get the
test done, and it turns out it was only those three questions
with a bon voyage message at the end.

Now to be fair, we had the Sci Fi channel's Star Trek marathon
on all day Xmas day, and yesterday I picked up all five
seasons of Miami Vice from a neighbor...
So there's the spaceship and the flamingoes. But why the
math?

Dover's thoughts on the dream:

Symbols are often archetypal/universal but it's important that you participate in their interpretation because they are uniquely 'yours' as well. The square and the triangle for instance have several meanings, from esoteric to geometrical. So what is your connection to them? Perhaps the fact that they couldn't be measured has something to do with not being able to fall back on old formulas in the tests that are before us.

We will be in new territory that requires us to use a different type of intelligence. The alien space ship also suggests 'new worlds'.

I wish I knew what to make of the flamingos. The 'ship' hiding among them is such an intriguing picture in my mind. And of course leaving the big house and selling off/giving away it's contents is a requirement of any 'move', and can be rather cathartic and cleansing.

and like ThroughTheLookingGlass, they were about 'gifts' that come with 'obligations'.

In short, he dreamt I was preggers and worried that we couldn't afford the child. In fact he said I was planning to bounce a check in order to pay for the delivery. Also, well-wishers descended upon us to offer their 'support' and ended up "eating us out of house and home" in his words. Then, to top it off, he got lost trying to get groceries.

He kept returning to the same dream, such that I woke him up at one point because just after drifting off to sleep I heard him say "not again..."

In the morning he laughed it off and told me that his subconscious mixed up my 'birthday' with 'birthing day'

12. Last night I dreamed I came upon
this enormous estate, with stone buildings and beautiful grounds. In the dream I'm in my hometown but surprised I've never seen this place before. I see an engraved stone marker with the family name...I can't remember it but it was short and began with the letter S.

As I came up the hill, I realized that somehow I was going to stay there, that this house might suddenly be mine. It was as if I had forgotten that I might inherit this house someday. As I'm looking around inside, my Aunt "Milly" came in, with her father, "David". (In the dream, I don't think of them as deceased, but my aunt died very recently and her father died when I was a child.) Somehow I realize that while she has a greater claim on the house, she is letting me have it. When I express my gratitude she says, "But I'm the one who should be grateful to you, since I know I can leave Dad with you when I go away for a month at a time."

I'm a little taken aback at the idea of caring for this frail old man I don't know very well, but think it's probably ok and in any case, I know I won't say anything about it since it would seem so ungrateful. I woke up worried about the obligation.

17. Gifts and empowerment
4th day of Christmas Dec 29.

My dream this morning was in two parts:
the first was objective - I was just watching a story unfold.

A woman who drives a towtruck breaks up with her b/f (who drives a large pickup) in a parking lot. The two drive away, him tailing her. I see her in her cab, mad but very quiet. After a while she hollers out loud, "hang up now, stop trying to listen in on me" and her phone, in the back of the cab, makes a sound like it was disconnecting.

From the man's perspective, in his desperation he was following her too closely. I knew that he was wishing that his truck was hooked up to hers, so that he couldn't lose her.

He sent a message to her in her cab: Do you know what the gift was that I was going to give to you today? A ring.

It made her even angrier.
========================

Second part is subjective: I'm given the task of posing as my friend's daughter's aunt to gather a drum kit that she left at her music school (set in a building that I'd like to start a music school in, by the way) and deliver her and the drum kit home in her mom's car. The drum kit was curious because it was a mix of latin and western drums. I interrupted a class where another kid is using the drum kit. After talking to the teacher (who keeps trying to verify my identity. I'm upset that I was asked to lie so I dodge the questions and keep a straight face.) I decide to come back after the class to collect the equipment, but I don't really know when that is because I couldn't get it out of the teacher.

So we go back to my place. To pass the time I try to mend my picnic quilt by overstitching it with a pattern that is supposed to look like a seismograph. It goes very wrong after only a few lines (because an earthquake hit, I imagine) with the machine veering wildly and threads getting tangled in a comical way that Charles Schultz would depict.

Then I get into a heavy discussion about the definitions and possibilities of "manna from heaven." What could it be?

PS The seismograph quilt was a puzzle I made for myself, inspired by this thread
http://www.rigorousintuition.ca/board/viewtopic.php?t=22101&start=15
and no, I won't be trying it anytime soon.

10. I haven't been paying attention to dates, but here are a few of mine in the last few days
Dream 1:

I was walking with my hubby and one of our friends (this friend has been absent from our lives because his wife doesn't like us) and he was leading through some tall weeds, we arrive at a river and we sit down and he ask us if we are experiencing any itchiness. Hubby and I look at each other with that D'oh moment, a yeah we've been walking through overgrown weeds.
He asks us what we think of one of Obama's cabinet picks, her name is Ciro/Caro. We hadn't heard much about her so we didn't have any input to provide him.

Later in the day, we are an office environment. A lot of activity is taking place. I walk throughout the building looking into every room. In one of the rooms is Barack and a Field Organizer I thought I recognized and worked with during the campaign. They were going over some notes. I continue checking out the building and making sure I walk past the room with Barack in it. I felt like I was trying to identify the person with Barack, and plus it was extremely exciting to be in the same building with Obama.

Dream 2:

Disclosure: Someone in my family was involved in Rove Politics in Texas. I believe to this day my family member was threatened by Rove. He still won't disclose everything about his involvement, although he told us at the time what he did for Karl and that he was contacted by someone who threatened his life.

In my dream I was sitting at a table with Rove and he asked he why I didn't like him. I told him he was an EVIL bastard. And that he personally destroys peoples lives for political ambitions.

I left the table while yelling at him "FUCK YOU KARL ROVE, FUCK YOU!

Apparently, my outburst spread around the world and whenever anyone saw Karl they would shout at him "FUCK YOU KARL ROVE, FUCK YOU!

Dream 3:

Condi Rice was having a painting of herself unveiled at the Supreme Court building. In the portrait she was wearing a bright red gown, it looked a lot like the gowns Lady Justice/Lady Liberty wears. One shoulder bare and the other shoulder covered by fabric. Her nipples were exposed through the gown. The portrait looked kind of slutty.

The Supreme Court was letting citizens tour the upper chambers of the building. You could only get in if you knew someone from the inside. I was allowed in because I am a Precinct Chair and my local DP manager was there and he invited me.

I proceeded to explore the second floor where there were a lot of past Judges' portraits hung on display. Down below there was a meeting taking place and my DP manager was taking part in it.

As I continued looking around I noticed there was a commotion going on from outside the building. There were protesters hurling rocket like grenades into the building. Somehow I was part of the resistance group and I was the contact from within the building.

I did have another Obama dream last month.

Obama Dream:

I was inside an office building where I was helping out with duties. I had brought a lot of different Baked Goodies to the luncheon after the meeting. Barack was there and was holding talks with the office staff. I was worried because I didn't think my cooking would be good enough for P.E. Obama.

I apologize that I didn't write down the dates. But I tend to tell my hubby about them and sometimes I write them in my journal ( which would provide me with the dates, D'oh ) however, I get lazy and tend not to write them down.:banghead:

11. Last night, Gemini? (sunday)
I had Medical dreams and wierd performance dreams...

went to visit someone in the hospital and another person I knew was right next door (only a curtain between rooms) then I had to go and see a dead baby in the morgue...more like a fetus than a newborn and deformed (an idea not fully formed, aborted, miscaried?)

Then I was at a place that was a comnbination of a playhouse and a restaurant, weird things happening, masks and scary stuff, the owner of the place and his wife were up to no good and I was seing this unfold... seemslike the owner that was bad was also the one who "killed" the infant...was he trying to hide it? was his wife the one who had something to hide?

like I said, weird and very dismorphic, not linear at all...
I will try to pay attention more tonight!

thanks for the info!!!

22. Last night I dreamed about a hurricane
I was in a big banquet room waiting for a hurricane to hit, and I kept telling the other people in the room to put the knives someplace safe so the hurricane couldn't hurl them at us. When the storm finally hit, the clouds were so thick I couldn't see in front of me, and it felt like the storm was pulling my feet out from under me. I woke up suddenly, realized it was a dream, then fell back asleep and directly into another dream -- same cast of characters this time, only they were giving me gifts -- alms for the poor type gifts. We were still in the same banquet room, but then suddenly we were at what I think was supposed to be my house, and I was embarrassed for them to see where I lived -- it was very much a shack with holes in the floors, etc. -- and was just mortified to be singled out for gifts. The entire night was very disturbing, and I woke up exhausted.

Any thoughts on these dreams?

23. would you call your dream as happening Dec 29 or Dec 30?
I'm thinking I'm seeing patterns emerge, but I think it may be premature to declare them... I'm pretty tired and pressed for time right now.

As for your specific dream, I know that houses are supposed to represent yourself/your mind, and perhaps yours is conflated with a stress dream like 'fear of exposure'. What are your thoughts on that, how is this related or unrelated to your own typical stress dream?

We've discussed the meaning of water in a dream in the past, I wonder if a storm has a different meaning. I'll see what I can dig up, later on.

Thanks for sharing!

24. Thanks Crikket
Definitely the 30th. These 2 dreams happened just before I woke up this a.m.

My typical stress dreams are of the trying-to-get-something-done-and-can-never-quite-get-to-it variety. Example: trying desperately to get dressed but can't find my socks or shoes or pants, etc.

Not sure about the exposure thing -- I'm pretty much an open book -- but I would like to figure out the hurricane part.

25. Hi there...
I'm new to this group but it is one of the reasons I started donating. I have my chart done regularly since about 1984 and used to read tarot cards. My astrologer tried to mentor me as she thought I had good abilities and used to read at some of the psychic fair that the now deceased John Catchings ran in the Dallas area. She really felt I was more of medium with abilities to communicate with those who have passed on -- I do periodically do this but more on that later.

I've had some weird ones, but on topic, last night I had a dream within a dream. In my dream, I dreamed that Jimmy Buffett had died on the same night as a concert he had scheduled in Dallas. I had tickets to the show and kept asking people if he had really died and if there was going to be a show. No one could confirm it in my dream and I woke up as I was arriving at the concert still trying to find out what was happening. The crowd was outside the venue, but no one was getting in. The non-dream part of my dream was vivid enough that I was surprised when I woke up from it and realized it was a dream. To my knowledge he has no concerts scheduled here at this time.

Before I went to bed, I had made a post about a Buffett some called Fruitcakes - so perhaps that's why he was on my mind; then the song came on the radio this morning when I was driving to work. Weird huh.

30. Virgo dream: cleaning up
My dream this morning was that I had a magic vacuum cleaner that I was using to clean toxic gunk out of people's houses, starting with my own. The gunk was piled along everyone's baseboards about 6" high. As I was walking to my next house I crossed a different toxic pile of rubbish (a kitchen sink was in it) that rain/runoff was leaking through and made a mental note to get it later, but I'd have to call for help. (interrupted by the alarm, meh)

31. Virgo dreams night...dear gods, I was pregnant
NoooOOOOOooooo!

Lots of women in the dreams, which is interesting. First dream--Mr. MG and I were living in a house next to acres of farm fields. My mom lived in the house nextdoor. A blonde woman lived in the house on the other side of the fields, kind of diagonal from us, and far enough away that we didn't have much to do with her. But one night I woke up to the sound of shouting--the blonde woman had let herself into our house and was on the back enclosed porch, talking very loudly into her cell phone. She or another member of her family also spent some time riding a dirt bike around in our back yard, also in the middle of the night. When she was on the phone, I got out of bed and walked up to her with a WTF! expression, and she didn't bat an eyelash--she acted like I was in the wrong for not wanting her in our house. Time shift and then she started bossing me and my mom around, with regard to the area of the yard where the garden was. I had a garden started--spent a long time conditioning the soil, and the plants were already growing--but this woman said she wanted that spot, as well as the spot where my mom and I had herbs growing. She was QUITE bossy.

It was the second dream where I was pregnant. I was young and worked at a business of some sort that had offices in a house. I worked with another young woman who was also pregnant. There was a doofus-y sort of man who kept sexually harassing us, but it was the "harmless" sort that made it hard for "us girls" to get our bosses to take seriously--pats on the behind, stuff like that. I don't know how that one ended--nothing dramatic, just kind of faded away.

40. yankeeinlouisiana's dream - endless new addition to home
http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=245&topic_id=81583&mesg_id=81583
I had a wonderful New Year's Eve dream this morning!!
Posted by yankeeinlouisiana

It's actually a reoccurring dream with a twist. In the past I have dreamed of an older home that was nice, but needed a lot of TLC. However, there was an "addition" to the home that was all nice and new.

This morning I only dreamed of the new part of the house. It was only me and my children looking at the house and at first it didn't seem quite big enough for all of us. But as I entered each room I noticed they went back further than I had realized and rooms seemed to appear as I needed them.

Here's to new beginnings and a wonderful and bright future for us all!!

Happy New Year!!

Forgive me for being a scifi dork but it sounds like you dreamt that your new home was a http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/TARDIS">TARDIS

29. I made a fish pie with strudel topping -- Yumm!!!
I don't remember the whole dream but I was making a pie with a fish. For some reason, I think the fish was smoked, even though I saw the fish in the sink, swimming. The pie was cooking and I was making the strudel topping. A part of me said this isn't right but the dominant part of me said that's the recipe. Try it. I never got to the part of actually putting the topping on the pie or serving it.

I have no idea of the fish or pie symbolism.

32. Oaky, here's my day 6 dream (dec 31, this morning)
I was at home, here there is a cul de sac right next to our house, meadow, trailhead and a bear came out of the woods and ended up in my bed with me, just peaceful and curled up & sleping... (I musty interject that my little ones alays crawl into bed with me, but this was not one of them, in reality or in the dream - though I should also mention that my baby boy has a real baby bear quality about him as a totem. and I know the bear in my dream was mine and there for 'me')

the baby bear hung out and never went back in the woods... the course f the time to tame him was 3 days
How did I tame hom? easy, feed him, all kinds of good food, no garbage forthis baby bear! (in reflection I think how ironic, what are we alway told and the signs everywhere..."Do not feed the Bears"...lol)

the three days looked like this:

day one - wake up with the bear, sleeping and walking around the house & yard, offering food, the bear would follow and never once looked back at the woods right next door to our house...(it was not scary, just a curiosity, enjoyed the bear alot)

day two - woke up in the hospital (hmm, second hopital dream in 3 nights)I wa the patient this time and they were givin me al kind of strange juices, etc...my mom brought the bear to my room and the presence of him/her healed me. My mom was stuned that she could get the bear to the hospital by simply offering food and having it follow her. it was perfectly happy tagging along...and the hospital people were not shocked, it ewas all natural. my totem was there and that was it.
but then the tone shifted a little
and we had to get out of the hospital and somewhere "else"
ran down the stairwell, found ourvelves in a barren wasteland
Day three:
bear still with us, we set out up a hill,
things change and he hill turns into excaation, a construction site, and near the end there was a building we had to sneak through
there were about 5 ppl with me & the bear, my daughter(older) my mom(younger)...etc (the family?)there were follwing me, but I realized I was following bear

bear knew the way bear knew the how & why of it all

and I was at peace and the dream faded

I actually had a dream last night and remember just one thing from it. I had on this crazy mismatched set of clothes, and my husband sincerely said "I like your outfit." Like it was the new fashion or something.

34. Day 7 -- baby getting older?
Hmmm yesterday I dreamt that I was pregnant. Last night I dreamt that my son was an infant again (he's 5 in reality). Strange dreams (was it the champagne? but I only had one glass! :D ) and hard to remember. Partway through this morning I remembered that in one of the dreams I got into an argument with my crazy fundie-Catholic Bush-lovin' aunt and ended up shouting at her to go talk to Hannity about whatever it is we were fighting about. Which made no sense, now that I think about it!

38. Jan 1 -- Dreamed that I robbed a cradle
That's similar, isn't it?

I signed up for a dating service, and was matched with a 22 year old guy (1/2 my age). At first everyone, including myself, thought the computer had made a mistake -- everyone, except the guy I was matched to. Then, as we started talking and got to know each other, we realized that we were perfectly matched despite the age difference.

Not sure what this means.

37. Day 8 - neon-pink thingies in the lawn
Yeah, this was a weird one. I was spending time with some good friends (although I didn't recognize any of them when I reflected on the dream after I woke up) and I kept telling one of them that he saved my life. I don't know how he did that, but I was very adamant about it. We were in a building and I looked outside and saw these pink glowing things, small and round and close to the tops of the grass like mushroom caps, scattered all over the lawn. And there were some white sparklies on the lawn as well. I puzzled over what these were and never got an answer.

39. Ancestors & demons, revenge vs love, purge vs release
This morning my dream was set in a boarding school or college of some sort, gothic architecture. It took place on a 'dark and stormy night'. This is a canned-cheese alert, I don't know why I picked this setting and scene.

Anyway, a woman-friend of mine was a professor there and her daughter was a student, a preteen. The daughter was placed in my care for a time and I was shown around the school and dorm.

Creepy paranormal things were happening at the school. It was besieged by non-physical beings who were malicious and who could hurt people. My friend had me watching her kid because she was tracking down a murder.

My woman friend was killed during her investigation. She was wearing a red dress. I remember seeing a bloody foot in a red pump - I got the impression from that 'she's a soldier and died in battle' -- likening the pump to soldiers' boots.

So suddenly I get a different idea about the place, her daughter is now my charge so I have to protect her, and I'm supposed to find my friend's killer and bring it to justice. I have dramatic things to say about mucking up clues, and otherwise slog along until I make a realization:

And everyone was a soldier, it turns out: I learn that every person in the place has sided with one of two camps of nonphysical beings - which I understood to be ghosts of people and demons. They were actively battling each other, people were killing each other over the spirits' war.

Everyone could see the spirits. The demons were (gothic) grotesque mashups of animals/humanoids and the human souls were tormented. The spirits were calling on their humans to exact revenge. They haunted the place (and their people) until their killers were brought to justice. People were all too willing to comply.

One thing that humans did to battle a spirit was band together to gang up on a ghost or demon and 'purge' it. It involved a release of aggressive energy from the heart or chest area. It was supposed to completely destroy a person, because just killing them didn't work. The 'purging' act was very bad for the spirits, and it took a lot of people to accomplish.

People in the institution were ganging up on my dead friend's ghost, and I wanted to save her.

I had another realization:
The calls for vengeance perpetuated violence among the living, and perpetual violence was actually the aim of some of the demons. But I knew the spirits could be 'released' back to the source with love, through an act of forgiveness.

So I interrupted the 'purge' and as a demonstration forgave my friend, which felt like a release of loving/positive energy from the area of my heart. A bright hole opened up in the wall for her to cross through. She did. The light took over everything and as the portal closed it faded again to us, back in this school.

So I knew that forgiving our ancestral ghosts also meant letting go the crusades they were recruiting us to take up, forgiving their living killers, and even forgiving the demons who kept the cycle of violence spinning. To stop the violence with forgiveness was to win the conflict.

I explained this to the people that were gathered around me and we decided to change our tactics so that we would help the spirits and in so doing, end the struggle between ourselves.

43. A new Harry Potter series?

Okay, I'm gonna need some forgiveness for that.
But you must admit it reads like a film script.
And the moral of the story seems very explicit, yes?
Sounds like you have your work cut out for you.
Does this resonate with you as a spiritual calling?

45. Day 11 - Aquarius - Jan 5
Ah, Monday.

It's 'back to business' for a lot of us today - Hope your holidays went well (can't believe I survived mine!) and I hope 2009 is a progressive year that we look back on with pride.

As arduous as 2008 was, I call it a progressive year and there's a lot about it to be thankful for. The fact that dark dealings were exposed to light means that they can't continue, that's progress over past years. And, yes we did elect a government more aligned with our point of view. That's progress too.

:hi: happy day.
