How is everyone doing coming in to the last 2 months of the election?
I am not fairing well, I have no patience and feel as if the weight of the world has been placed on my shoulders, though true or not, that is my perception of the way I have felt over the last few months.

Since there are still at least two months to go, I thought I'd enjoy trying to find poets or musicians who speak for this feeling.

Who gives voice to your feelings, right now? I've found that Gnarls Barkley - "Crazy" is perfect for me at this stage.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bd2B6SjMh_w&feature=related

here are the lyrics in case you don't like videos.

I remember when, I remember, I remember when I lost my mind
There was something so pleasant about that place.
Even your emotions had an echo
In so much space

And when you're out there
Without care,
Yeah, I was out of touch
But it wasn't because I didn't know enough
I just knew too much

Does that make me crazy
Does that make me crazy
Does that make me crazy
Possibly

1. The fear mongering based Palin pick has thrown me a bit or maybe
I just need to stay out of the DU until this settles. It seems like every thread is about her and I am sick of it.

2. I'm a nervous wreck
I'm worried about an invasion of Iran, further destruction of our government and Constitution, martial law, suspension of the election, dirty tricks, cheating and more cheating.

I won't be able to take a deep breath and relax until I see Obama and Biden duly sworn in next January.

8. I'm trying to pretend we're not trying
to start a war with Russia and China by way of Georgia! Evil Cheney is on his way there today. I think they are trying to get Israel to start the war with Iran so we can cover all the war bases.

3. Money wise I'm feeling squeezed.
Every thing is going up except my income. I have had to implement economies in the past as my fortunes dwindled, but I was able to get by and even buy something extra now and them. Now, I'm actually getting to a crisis point that any new economies are going to be doing without some necessity. Most likely it will start like with most elderly with a choice between food and medication. I am somewhat mentally prepared for it though. I guess it's a matter of grinning and bearing it.

4. I'm financially strapped, overwhelmed with tasks that
I can't keep up with, can't even start, can't manage, can't pay for, I'm worried about the pump on my well and getting enough firewood in to keep from freezing this winter, and I have never been less interested in an election.

I'm hoping for a positive year with my students, looking forward to having my son and grandson move out next month and wondering when I'll find time to paint and rearrange the space to suit me in their absence, and feeling like, with that step, I'm ready to take control of my life. Hoping I can do so with some sort of order and efficiency. Finances are the biggest issue at this time.

5. Personally, I'm at peace
Money is tight but nowhere near what it was like a year ago. Family is okay; house renovations are continuing slowly but surely. However, I'm majorly tense about the election. All things being equal, I don't doubt Obama would have it in the bag with NO problem. But I fret about the repubs stealing it again.

6. I'm doing okay. I think things are about to look up for me, actually.

And I'm finally feeling more positive about the election itself, although I don't think I'm going to feel really good about it all until I think the country is truly moving forward again.

7. stressed
worrying about finances at night, instead of sleeping. Worrying about my dog, who isn't "quite right" and trying to decide whether to take him to the local (mediocre) vet or further to an unknown vet in a better class town who does chiropractic (based on history and symptoms, there's a 1 in 4 chance the issue is at least partly chiropractic in nature). And worried about the cost of oil, even with the coop's under $4/gallon price it's going to hurt bad this winter. And worried about the election after McCain stole Obama's thunder.

Until today. This morning, I "took the battle to them" with a couple jehovah's witnesses who keep coming by at bad times and interruping me when I really cannot be interrupted. I saw them at my neighbor's while walking my dog, so went over and explained how if they really want to help the world, they should go have a chat with the rightwing christian conservative wingnut former employers who poisoned me. I was polite but passionate, and left assured that they will never come by my place again. Lol, I even gave the names and addresses of the former employer, although I suspect they were afraid to go have a chat about the bible and Jesus' word with them!

Then I came inside to get online during my last day of "vacation" before school starts up again. And there were the latest disaster headlines about Palin, plus Gustav dropped to cat 2. I've been feeling incredibly hopeful and cheery ever since!

9. Pretty stressed out here, too.
Money's tight. Worried about winter utility bills. Just bought a house in June and we really have NO idea what to expect. The summer bills were higher than we'd hoped. :( Trying to get extra insulation in the attic and weather-sealing done elsewhere -- on a shoestring budget. Worried about gas prices and getting my daughter back and forth to her classes, worried about what's going on with Iran/Georgia/Russia, the Palin thing makes my brain hurt... and on and on. I told my husband a few days ago that I want to be able to relax a little, to be able to just breathe. We've both been tense, every day, constantly, ever since Bush was s-elected. I don't recall EVER feeling this unsure, this uncertain, about our future. I've always paid attention to politics my entire adult life (I'm 54), but it wasn't something that I felt like I had to pay attention to every freaking day just to stay on top of things. I'm tired. So very tired. It's my deep, sincere HOPE that when Barack Obama and Joe Biden are sworn in next January that I will finally be able to breathe easy once again. This HAS to happen.

11. "Tired" is apt.
I've mentioned it, and have read it from others here. I am bone tired. And so sick of the Republicans.
Include all who seek to dominate others. It is. It's a constant battle to remain "free" in AMERICA!!
Something is very wrong somewhere.

10. I'm watching gas prices go down AGAIN prior to an election.
I don't want to fear-monger, but it's a given. The republicans will pull dirty tricks. It's what they do. Some people can't get what they want without damaging others to get there.

Forewarned is forearmed. Sigh. Freaking 3rd dimensional crap.
