This morning I was just thinking about how poor George can pardon everyone but can't pardon himself.
Then I thought of the vision someone had about George not showing up at the inauguration.
I suddenly put the two together -- poor George claims to be ill or some how incapacitated shortly before the inauguration and after the lame duck session of Congress ends. Cheney takes over and then pardons George.

Anyone got a feel about this?

1. Well, for what it's worth

the outgoing president has always attended the inauguration of the next one. Of course, your scenario is something else. Possible, I'm sure, but highly unlikely.

I seem to recall that others on this forum have posted similar "visions" (and that's only in quotes because I'm not sure of the term the original posters used, not as a denigration) of Bush not attending the inaugural next January.

2. Everytime I think about * now, (which is rarely) it is with a sense that he has pulled deep inside

himself. I think that after the inaugural he will be spirited away to Latin America and largely never heard from again.

3. Why Latin America?

That would make no sense at all.

I'd expect he'll "write" his memoirs -- pity the poor ghost writer who will need to make sense of that! and then do some sort of "consulting" work with various companies, or give motivational speeches for large sums of money, as his father has done. Alas, we only we we'll never hear from him again.

5. He may want to move to make it harder to be prosecuted/tried.

4. It looks like Latin America is out except for current friends in Colombia. The friendly

President of Paraguay was outed in an election, replaced by a much beloved priest who leans toward the people. Maybe Moon won't stay there, but we probably won't close the military bases we created in P recently. Unless asked to?
