Okay. Help/insight needed. Again.
So husband thought he had a better opportunity down the road. He thought about it for two weeks. I wasn't very enthusiastic about changing the job, seeing as how it was so hard to get where we were in the first place, but he felt his creativity was being stifled and he had no chance to advance, which is mostly true. The other place offered him head dj, and more shift pay per night, as well as creative control. So despite my misgivings, which I attributed to fear based on worry about lack (which is not a very good place to be coming from); I told him that I was on board with whatever made him happy. He said his gut told him this was the right move. So he did it.

Three days on the job; he calls me tonight and tells me that (due to a couple of things) he thinks it's the biggest mistake he's ever made.

The problem is, this seriously affects me and our son, too. Now he has to beg for his job back, and probably not get the nights he had before.

I told him my misgivings at the start, but I figured his 'gut' had to be right. How could he be so off with instinct?
Cross your fingers for us. Now I really am worried, and I know this isn't the right frame of mind, but it's a hard habit to break.

Any feelings/insight/whathaveyou are welcomed. And no, there really is NOT another job option, at least not in this field. Trust me on this one.

Thanks....

2. Lil'D ..
SeattleGirl just started a thread which is kind of about how so many of us (most?) are going through some kind of Topsy turvy Mr. Toad's Wild Ride. What is coming to me is Discouragement. I thought that moving to the house with five roommates was the "right thing", only to conclude later that it was a big mistake, and I usually don't attribute outcomes to "mistake". Maybe that's a mistake.

The thinking goes, there must be a flaw in my system somewhere, internal guidance system awry, or what's wrong with my thinking that I can't make good decisions. Those kind of doubts and fears. I've been waking up with apprehension each day lately. Much of this is induced by the chaos created by Chaos in Chief, we know that, and there's little to be done about the impact on our lives at this moment. Maybe it's responsible for more than we realize on first glance. He has taken the world on a downward, spiraling, out of control freak show of a ride for EIGHT YEARS. My god. A decade of torture on the world stage and chaos in supplies and family structures. It's going to ripple. Or crest.

I'm sorry ya'll are going through that. What a blow. The proverb, "fall down seven times, get up eight" always appealed to me. Now I hate it. I do like the one BI posted. Check it out. Chin up, matey.

3. it's funny how often ambition masks itself in the wisdom of the gut
Edited on Thu Jul-31-08 06:08 AM by NuttyFluffers
a clever insidiousness, ambition can be.

edit: the gut is often great at keeping one out of trouble, not so much at finding fortune. the reason being is ambition and logic often starts to emulate the gut vibrations during such "less urgent" times. one has to be highly attuned to their gut before they can start telling the difference between false and real vibrations during moments of fortune.

best of luck to you and yours. don't know what else to say besides that sometimes it's the trials we learn the most.

4. I'm really sorry this happened
I can't help but think about the posts I've seen on this site...Karen Bishop?...about the energy shifting and all of us needing to vibrate on a higher plane, how there's a lot of disconnection right now because some folks are vibrating higher and some our not. Maybe this accounts for your husband's clear feeling that this would be a better job for him, only to find he was mistaken?

Is it an option for him to stay on the new job and try to work through whatever is not right about it? It's the kind of thing some people would say, that he made the choice and should see it through. On the surface it seems a bit Dickensian, but they hired him for a reason, he took the job for a reason, maybe he is supposed to be there for some reason we don't yet understand.

5. I think we're gonna have to go with that attitude.
..and you're right, they want him for a reason (he's GOOD!); he took it for several reasons (stifled creativity, chance to be head dj vs. the head dj at the old club not going anywhere anytime soon; all night shifts, training to manage, etc.); and I really do hope he's supposed to be there for a reason we don't yet understand.

But I do think he's learning a BIG lesson about patience. I just hope that's not the only reason this is happening.....sigh. LOL.

I find him, despite some things of course, to be a very spiritually pure person, usually pretty clear. So I am hoping this really was not a false alarm. And he said that his gut has always eventually steered him right before.

And there's one other possibility: we are hoping that the old club, eventually realizing that their model of operation will not be as profitable as in one where they are not micro-managing everything and stifiling creativity, will eventually come to a place that they want him back with a vengance! But we shall see.

Thanks for the insight...

7. Oh LD, so sorry your hubby is having more job issues
And your family is so stressed out because of it.

What I'm getting is...is there any way he can ride the wave for a little while? (By that I mean stay where he is, in the new job, for now, and see what happens. Like what you and everyone else said on this thread, either the new job will get better or the old job will come crawling to him...or a third option will open up?)

The reason I ask is that for the past couple of weeks, but especially in the past few days, I've seen thread after thread here and in the Lounge bemoaning a truly crappy state of affairs in people's personal lives. I think I saw three threads in the Lounge yesterday alone that said "What a horrible day I just had" etc.

I suspect there's something going on astrologically, or with the Shift. I'm an astro ignoramus, so I can't speak to that specifically, but so many people are experiencing bad "luck" lately, I'm thinking it has to be a bumpy part of the road. But as we all know, that kind of intense bad "luck" can't last forever. Like a thunderstorm, the more intense it is, the shorter it lasts.

Maybe one of our esteemed ASAH family members can be more specific about what I'm picking up. In the meantime, hang in there, open yourself up to your spirit guides and the Universe, and remember it's okay to whimper to the powers that be..."Halp!"

8. -giggle-
"I will share with you the most powerful prayer in the universe. I have checked with Matthew, Mark, Luke and John and have their permission to not only share this prayer, but to state that its power exceeds that of the Lord's Prayer. This is the most effective prayer that has ever been heard in the universe and it is the one which cannot be denied by any energy in the cosmos. It is the one that rallies all of the kingdoms to your aid invariably, without exception. Are you ready for this prayer? "HELP!!!"

from No time for Karma, http://www.paxtonrobey.com/COSMIC.html

Thanks!!

We are going to ride the wave, I think. He was told by one party at the other old job that he would 'always have a place here'; but then the head dj there got really pissy, so who knows.
He and I are going to talk about it some more when he gets up..
