We've discussed those very questions here briefly in the forum.
I'm not exactly sure what you're asking though. Do you want specific transits? How knowledgable are you of astrology?
I wish I could remember the subject heading for those threads so I could link you to them. Perhaps someone else remembers and can do that. Or you can search my threads (perhaps going back four or five pages) or Stellanoir's threads, or ccpup's or Ricks, or Dream's astro-threads, among others.
Here's one of mine that I bookmarked which is an older thread with several articles about the general effects of Pluto's long passage through Capricorn:

http://www.starlightnews.com/. There you might read one of Nancy's essays like the one titled: Years Of Transition -
http://www.themetaarts.com/2007may/nancysommers.html or visit her Blog section which has current stuff.
Also might try Nolle's website for monthly and yearly reports. I have posted his stuff here in the past but you can find it yourself here:

We discuss such things in this forum, but it's more hit or miss, dispersed amongst other types of topics.
Basically the supporting long-term transits for the issues I mentioned around the election have to do with the current Pluto square to the U.S. midheaven which indicates a major shift of our place in the world, power struggles, and a continuing identity crisis regarding our new global position, among other things. This is the beginning of a long Plutonian unraveling or the death throes of our nation (which began in earnest several years ago but really became apparent as Pluto crossed the U.S. ascendent beginning approx. around 2000). Pluto will be opposing our nation's Cancer planets for several years to come.
And then there is the Saturn/Uranus opposition which interestingly enough will become exact on the day of the election. Surprises and upsets as Uranus challenges the Saturnian status quo. The beginnings of revolution? Breakdown?
This election day aspect is somewhat eased by the opposition's positive aspect to transiting Jupiter, however.
And the U.S. Mars will also be getting hit by a square from Uranus (impulsive aggression) and toward the end of the year (after the elections) by a very frustrating and angry (with no immediate outlet) energy from Saturn's station to U.S. Mars.
Could be an economic breaking point or some other big event that stops us in our tracks.
It should also be noted that the U.S. progressed Mars recently began it's retrograde, which is an indication perhaps of the internalising rather than externalizing of aggression and growth and the ending, over time, of U.S. dominance through military/economic might. We've all just experienced a brief feel for what a retrograde Mars energy is like with the long retrograde from transiting Mars that lasted from mid-Nov. to the end of January.
That's just a very brief broad stroke explanantion. All those transiting planets, though, are highly signficant in their own right. Particularly intense when they are all working together...that's a lot of deep change and upheaval. We need to let go of the old ways and begin again. And we will be compelled to do so as a nation, but individually we must also embrace the death of the old and begin building the new.
