As we are opening to new light, are we also opening to new levels of darkness?
Is the Ascension an opening to new levels of both, a higher amplitude of swing equal across both polarities?

I ask because the worst negativity is that which hides its annihilatory nature in light, and tricks others into following it. I've run across a bit of true negativity and it usually, smiling, provides a disclaimer, either using that word itself, placing the serious disclaimer amidst jokes and even jokes about disclaimers... I've seen in-depth paths with great amounts of truth have, at the end and as the "highest attainment", traps.

Sometimes it is seductive and feel-good and others it is a serious pursuit of knowledge, but some knowledge, for those still in ego-based experience, is disastrous. Or based upon principles and practices that are designed to create short-circuits in our thought process. All the time promising a new level of achievement (an ego-based temptation). Flattery can be a good determiner of this sort of thing. Exclusivity, as well.

I'm asking because the worst that I've seen is indeed feel-good, seductive, joking, etc. Most of us can now sense obvious brutality and reject it, so is this a new set of lessons, or does the Ascension mean that we will be beyond such matters, finally? I wonder because I would imagine that the distractions and temptations become more and more subtle as we attempt to reach God once and forever.

I would appreciate any perspective on this that any wish to share...

1. I think it is just light revealing the darkness that was there all along
there has always been darkness, some blatant and some very subtle and all the graduations in between. IMO it is now that even the more subtle tricks and mind games are becoming more obvious. And this is good because then people will know to avoid those things and to send light that way to transmute the harm.

And that's an interesting thought about it now merely being more visible.

I'm concluding that there really are only two paths. Toward God, and away.

3. Think of an attic or basement with only one weak light bulb.......
Put in a higher wattage or one of those cool CFLs that light up so much more than the wattage they are supposed to equal and suddenly all the dust and spiderwebs in the corners are suddenly viability.

We are shining more light than ever onto the harmful darkness revealing all of it's vast hideousness in nauseating detail. More and more people are waking up from the trances they have been in and no longer can tolerate things. At times I feel so hyper sensitive like I have no skin on so every bit of bad vibes I pick up is like salt in an already raw wound.

JMO but everyone needs Light. The more I vibrate at a healthier and stronger level the more I raise the collective vibes of all one bit more. And while everyone's path goes in different directions ultimately they all go back the source. Some are just awhile longer to get there.

4. hmmm
I think one reason why people fear the occult is due to this. I suppose with some people there could be an attempt to use it in a negative way (think: temptiation). Also, I am a big believer in entities entering energy fields of people and sometimes even ruining their lives. What are the ways that things like this happen? One way might be if your energy field is used to opening up to experience the light, and it is left open for some reason and POOF one or dozens or thousands of those entities slip in and stay. And most people don't know it.

Anyway, my guess is that it is entities in the energy field in people causing them to act in the manner that you describe--which I call passive aggressive, with the emphasis on the aggressive.

5. Fear of the Occult, also entties
It would be funny if it wasn't so sad that so people fear the alternative religions yet forget to use discernment when it comes to more traditional groups, religious and otherwise, being used against them. It isn't just in new age belief/religious systems that there those who cause harm. There are plenty in the traditional that use and abuse hiding in plain sight.

Entities. I was just reading part of a book on spirit releasement the other day that mentions that many people pick up entities when ill and injured. At those times people are not just physically more vulnerable to opportunistic germs but opportunistic entities eager to set up housekeeping whenever they can find a chink in a person's energy. Just as a cockroach can creep in through the tiniest crack so can these harmful beings. As they feed on pain and fear the healthier we can make ourselves on all levels, and assist others in being, the less likely we will pick up one or more of 'germs' like these. Also this is one of the reasons I try to clear harmful energies in my area and else where when I can to give things like these less food.

6. good points
Probably all these hell, fire, and brimstone preachers are attracting all sorts of negative stuff into their churches, inadvertently.

Drug use and abuse, or even just being around places with past drug use and abuse can attract all this.

I still keep finding and flushing negative stuff away from me. And it probably did start with night terrors when I was a kid.

I think it is really important to clear out a child's bedroom. Unfortunately I knew nothing about this when my kids were small.

Even after the entities leave, some of the negative thought patterns can persist, seemingly. But the negative thought patterns are lot easier to get rid of once the entities are gone.

I keep saying "they", but I really don't mean it in the sense that "they" are personified--just negative energy.

13. One thing you can use to dispel negative energy is tonk
Tonk is the Lakota name for shelf fungus. It grows on the side of trees. You take a bit of it (after asking permission of the plant and thanking it--if you follow the Red Road, you leave tobacco as well) and then burn it. It STINKS. But that is the point. Negative energies don't like the smell and leave. I had a friend who had an office where she was picking up on some very negative energy. I took tonk and my husband and I used it, then left some pieces in the vent, where the energy seemed to be coming from. Took it away immediately--and the friend says the negative presence hasn't come back.

12. You are on the right track
with minding the entities. I know that they do, indeed, look for chinks in a person's energy field. That is one reason it is important to pray for the sick--your energy builds up their fields so this is less likely to happen. They feed on any emotion that makes us vulnerable, which includes anger--see my post below for a personal experience. Because of that experience I've tried to be more aware of when I am angry and to resolve the situation, usually by forgiveness of myself and others.

11. In re: entitites
Having been under psychic attack myself, I would say from my experience that the only way an entity can enter your field is if you provide an opening. With me, that opening was anger. I was really made about something GW Bush was doing, and that anger built and built, and, I think, literally created a hole in my aura through which I was attacked. Took time, ceremony, and clearing emotional traumas from my past to finally get rid of it.

On the other hand, I've also cleared houses of negative influences in my capacity as a Charaga (Light Bearer). It is a particular ceremony, and you don't go into it without a lot of preparation and a lot of help from beings both on this plane and the other. Anyway, what I found interesting was that light, in the form of candles, was used in the ceremony--light placed in every nook and cranny. You could sense the influences running from the light as we progressed from the attic to the basement of the house. Got to one room where I could sense some were hiding--and then felt one on my shoulder. I looked down--it looked like a dust bunny--grey and not very scary looking at all-in fact, IT was scared. It extinguished the candle, but I ran and got another, and finished driving all the influences out of the house. Light, both in your aura and in ceremony, is very important in driving away this stuff.

Remember that darkness is really a shadow, and really shows the presence of Light. The darker the shadow appears, the stronger the Light around it. And remember what that shadow really is--something that is really insubstantial.

24. negative energies, entities and influences
can enter when your defenses are down and you are vulnerable particularly in cases of drug use, drinking alcohol and promiscuous sex under the influence of drugs or alcohol. You can also be very vulnerable during hospitalizations-- surgeries when you are anesthetized, and other procedures where you are psychically, physically and spiritually (having a great deal of fear associated with medical condition and prognosis) vulnerable.

Also, the invitation of these influences by delving in occult/esoteric practices when not prepared and protected-- esp. with the dark or black side of things can attract and provide a home for the yuck. These energies really don't like it when there is positive light exposing them, raising the vibration of their host.

I recently had an experience with a spiritual vampire or one who had a dark entity/parasitical entity attached to him. It was the first time I ever saw something like that and it was rattling esp. since I am an empath and was zapped. The individual still has this with him and until he makes a decision that he does not want it and is willing to throw it off, he will continue with it.

I don't believe the ascension is allowing dark as well as light, I think it is more of a flushing out of the dark, exposing it. This can be a painful process but is ultimately a healing one if the individual will release those negative energies. Some people will not, they may find comfort in them or are still in fear (which those energies feed on) and no one is going to leave a warm home with free meals unless forced. I think of them as parasites or trolls.

7. I need to add another characteristic of negativity that I've come across.
If you find writings that are nearly impenetrable, it can be on purpose, to cause you to focus your attention to juggle the content of even a single half-page paragraph. One such teacher did this, and I later found out that he was also a practitioner of hypnotism. If something is impenetrable, it may not be because the writer is substandard. Trust your instincts above all else. When in doubt, throw it out.

FWIW.

BTW, does anyone here understand the process of Animal Magnetism, the process of causing people to abandon themselves into despair?

8. My feeling in reference to this is that as one becomes more...
light-focused, it's easier to see what is "dark" in the world. I don't necessarily think that there actually is more darkness now.

It is especially important, in my opinion, that we keep our balance and focus on what is light without burying our heads in the sand about what we see as "dark". It's a difficult balance to maintain but is immensely important in reference to our ability to do the work that we want to do to make a difference in the world.

9. you are so right
Honestly, people that are unbalanced at all should not try the stuff that a lot of us do. Sometimes even something as simple as prayer can cause people to go whacko (as in schizophrenic). Now, that is rare, and I would guess that this is more of a medical thing than an entity thing, or, maybe a combo.

I really don't fear the forces of evil, and I wouldn't even preach against them. That probably would actually them more power. But I am really interested in the subject from a purely cognitive point of view. I just don't dwell on it.

I do think that a person that is sensitive to "light" or light beings, must almost by definition be able to detect negative energy as well.

Perhaps we need to renounce all duality, including light vs. darkness. I'm not there yet.

I still don't like negative energy anywhere around my energy field, or in the energy fields of loved ones or their spaces.

10. I agree with a lot of what has been said, but I don't think the danger is great if
Edited on Sun Feb-17-08 06:03 PM by Stevepol
the purposes are right. What do you want to gain more light for? If it is for constructive purposes, to be of greater service to others, to guide your steps better in your personal and family life, to do something better that you've found constructive in your life and in others, I can't see that there would be any danger. I've thought about this in my own life many times and I've not always made the right choices, but I think if we make the best choice we can see at the time, the way will become clear.

If the purposes are questionable, for self-aggrandizement or selfish purposes at the expense of somebody else or such, then there would surely be dangers.

I think as we grow spiritually, we become more powerful in our dealings with others and ourselves. We actually have more real effects on others and it would be easy to draw to us people who might have questionable motives, etc. But at the same time we should be more aware of the dangers as we grow too, more sensitive to the influences around us.

I can't see the problem, tho, if you are sincere and truly wanting to grow spiritually. Isn't that what people are on earth for? One thing at least.

The only real danger is Self, not Satan or some dark force beyond our control. Satan is our own personal creation. There's a personal model Satan for each person, constructed by the person him- or herself.

14. Wise words
"Satan is our own personal creation." Even the Beloved Prophet talked of this-he saw his wife, Ayesha, and remarked, "I see you have brought your Satan with you today." Ayesha, who worked all her life at controlling her ego, said, "Don't we all have a Satan, Husband?" Mohammed answered, "Yes, I have my Satan. But I have made him a Muslim." In other words, the Prophet had overcome the Satan he had created and surrendered him to the Peace that one finds in the Light.

15. I have a bit of power and have misused it, and have found both my personal bottom
and the grace of the creator as I seek to both transcend what has become of myself and to be of actual use in the world.

I've been plenty dark, in self-defense out of extreme fear and in justification of the demands and expectations of infantile ego. Trust me, fulfilling ego demands is the fast track to negativity. Praying and working for others is the quick path out. I quite honestly never wish to have to touch that sort of energy ever again, except in healing it, as has been done for me when I could not do it for myself. That experience reveals to me a truly superior way of living.

I am beginning to understand what is perhaps meant by non-duality, in that all things are indeed direct manifestations of the Creator, and as such are deserving of unconditional love, as the Creator loves us. Change how you look at something, and that something changes, it has been said. This goes directly to Buddhist techniques of holding our negative aspects with love, which transmutes them. This is also as far as I've experienced so far, the act of gratitude for all things in our lives. If you can have gratitude for the negative, it changes, at least in how it effects us.

Just thinking out loud and figuring it out as I go.

Having managed to attract both extremes of polarity into my life, I'd like to share a prayer that I was guided to recently, as IIRC part of a web site that had been posted here. It was mentioned in a channeling that many in the process of incarnation had been successfully healed of devastating negative karmic debt, thus avoiding the obvious debacles and burdens upon themselves and the world. I've since taken to praying that all, as it is God's will, incoming incarnations be freed from all negative karma. As well as all beings in my life. Going to the "forgiveness" thing...

I'm just waxing poetic regarding my joy at finding that the seeming clichés are actually genuinely functional acts resulting in a genuinely superior way of life. I hope that your findings are the same!

18. The Dark Side of Light
Not really on topic, but interesting article nonetheless:

The Dark Side Of Light

Light may not seem very interesting in our everyday lives. But to scientists, light’s properties are a constant source of intrigue. The nature of light as both wave and particle, light as the universal speed limit, and the way light interacts with magnetic fields in the atmosphere to form auroras are just a few examples of light’s fascinating behavior.

21. How can one see the light
if you don't know the dark.
Someone said that to me once and it really resonated in me.Must be the yin yang aspect. To me,if one can get to the point of duality one is only a short step away from finding the center.
