Saturn will oppose a nearly stationary Uranus on election day morning.
The aspect will occur at 8:33 am EST on November 4th.

hmmmmm

Mercury will change signs going from Libra to Scorpio at 11 am EST.

Just looking for people's intuitive hits on this.

I'll chime in later.

Perhaps be mindful of the election results of '00 being called into question shortly after Mercury went retro at 9:28 pm EST in that year.

1. Astrology Websites for 2008 Election
Edited on Fri Jan-25-08 03:05 PM by Dover
http://astrofuturetrends.blogspot.com/2007/06/astrology-websites-for-2008-election.html

The "Candidate Ranking" site listed near the bottom is one I've not seen before, and haven't had the time to sit and look at how the rankings are established. But alarmingly it shows Romney at the top. Bush Sr.'s guy. Hmmmm....

-----------------------------------

Well Stella, I'm in too much of a hurry to elaborate and honestly am not too inspired to even think about this, but it won't be business as usual. But then neither have the last two elections. More of the same with a twist.
Also, as I pointed out in another thread, the Federal Reserve chart's north/south nodes are exactly in line with that Saturn/Uranus opposition as well as having transiting Pluto on the midheaven squaring the Ascendent.

P.S. - Not terribly surprised that Kucinich didn't endorse any of the remaining Dem candidates.
And now it seems there is a concerted effort to knock him out of government entirely.

4. Hi Votes - here are some links and info
Edited on Fri Jan-25-08 08:13 PM by Dover
Kucinich supporters received this clip from Dennis, which I think was also shown on DU and other venues:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LehCxhHPXQ8

He is under attack from all sides in Ohio and the media has also been playing up his
"absence" from home as the main reason. (It's the same meme from GOP and Dems and media alike). It's gotten pretty ugly, like a gang bang, particularly from Ceveland Councilman Joe Cimperman whom Dennis says is backed by corporate interests (and the media). Cimperman uses mean-spirited, juvenile and in-your-face tactics, like we've come to expect of a corporate, ends-justifies-means type:

A blog discussion of one of Cimperman's pranks:
http://www.buckeyestateblog.com/hahahahahahaha

And a lengthier explanation of the situation surrounding Kucinich and the Ohio congressional candidates:

...He faces four candidates in the Democratic primary, including Cleveland Councilman Joe Cimperman, who has become his chief rival by raising hundreds of thousands of dollars and winning media attention...cont'd

http://americanpolitics.historyguy.com/2008/01/kucinich-out-of.html

My own feeling is that the directive to take Dennis down comes from beyond the local corporate scene, as it seems a continuation of the type of strong arming tactics that suppressed his message as a presidential candidate as well.
And with the media continuing to pound the message of his inability to deliver the goods due to his attentions on his presidential run (what else can they hang their accusations on?), it's difficult to measure real support. We've seen it before. And it IS Ohio, so the whole voting process is in doubt for many.

I don't know whether Dennis will survive this. If he finds himself out of office this year I hope he will, like Gore, find a place for himself to continue with his work outside the toxic environment that he finds himself in. A true populist and representative of the people cannot win in the current system.

Looking forward to the immense changes in store for this country.

What's your take on why Dennis didn't endorse any of the Dem candidates?

2. Here's what Pam Ciampi wrote for Llewellyn's Astrology
Datebook for this year, regarding election week 2008:

"Election week opens with Mercury direct, which is a good sign that things may go better at the polls than they did ob November 7, 2000, when the elections coincided with a stationary Mercury and the outcome of the presidential election was in turmoil. This week, Mars is in the middle of Scorpio, its power sign. The warlord nature of this fixed placement encourages a "my way or the highway" approach. But Mars is also in conflict with the hidden aspects of Neptune, which can indicate conflict as well as confusion. This "fight or flight" may have a marked effect on the U.S. election. The plot thickens when Mercury leaves the polite atmosphere of Libra on Tuesday to enter Scorpio, where communication and information exchanges turn tricky. Mercury will be treading the cold emotional waters of Scorpio for the next month. Various theories may fill the airwaves on on Thursday as the democratic Aquarius moon merges with Neptune. Early Friday morning, the moon moves in Pisces, where Uranus is traveling, and emphasizes the the hidden and bizarre. Just before the Moon leaves Pisces on Sunday, she forms an alliance with Mars, which is a signal that it's time to leave fear and excuses behind and look toward the future."

I read this in the parking lot where I bought this book, way back in November, and I've been in a gloomy funk ever since. I think we can count on cries of vote fraud/election fraud no matter who wins. Why oh why can't this nation have free, fair and transparent elections where EVERY vote counts and is counted?

In addition, I went hunting for Astrological articles on the election and I found 2 that said Obama would be the nominee and win, 2 said Hillary would be the nominee and win, and one that said it would be a Hillary/Obama ticket and they would win. It's confusing, that's for sure.

Anyway, I just thought I'd add this to the mix.

5. to be honest
I am utterly turned off on this election..

From the early signs in the media, I saw they would play the card of Clinton/ Obama shutting out everyone else. The media made such a big deal, nothing else mattered. They treated everyone else with such disrespect it is incredible. Midway, they added Edwards, just because the numbers are there. I thought then, the media (industrial complex) is going to decide the outcome. They don't care what party, as long as they have a straight line of communication with the candidate.

My daughter and her fiancee turned on a friend of theirs to volunteer for Kucinich. As of Las Vegas, their camp's computers were hacked and they could not even log on to see the results. He was so discouraged to see all the corruption, he came home thereafter, and said he will not vote.
Kucinich is being sabotaged by his own party. What is this?

I see the ugly debates by the candidates, here at DU - it is all so far removed from the "other dimension" it makes me puke.

None of the candidates represent that "other dimension", it just feels like politics as usual, Dem or Repub. Perhaps I just had an expectation, which is still too early to manifest. Unless someone exiting comes along it is a choice of the better than nothing. :(

It is high time, that this government is not run by 2 parties, so we can create a balance.

Can we have the Dalai Lama as prez?

6. I wrote about this last night but I just hit the back button instead.
I don't know why but I find it very difficult to post some days. Fear maybe?
Anyway I think that we have an opportunity here to make changes, big ones.

If we (collective we) want them badly enough we can have them, the problem is that it will be painful no matter which way we go. Status quo is a horrible scenario but so many people fear change that I worry about Americans remembering how to be brave. We will have to be courageous enough to face who we are and then be motivated to change.

A strong leader with insight and integrity can help with this, I hope the remaining months are enough to drill into the American psyche how much better life can be when we are lead and inspired to be our best selves and start to vote in our own best interests.

I think it's up in the air right now, I think we can go either way, deeper into darkness or through the darkness into a better more conscious world.

May November the 4th be just the beginning of a much brighter time. (and as IHAD always says, this or something even better)
