Any reason astrologically why children would have difficulty sleeping lately?
My previously-skeptical co-workers are now coming to me to ask if anything is going on astrologically when their children can't sleep at night!

One of them is a co-worker who would always roll his eyes when I mentioned that Mercury was retrograde so we should be careful starting new projects.

Does anyone know of anything going on astrologically over the last couple of days that would cause children (or anyone else) to have difficulty sleeping? The question from my colleague seemed to be genuine (I think that he's desperate), so I'd like to give him an answer if possible. He said that his young son woke up terrified last night, and my other colleague said that his daughter woke up at the very same time.

Thanks!

1. Don't know, but...
I don't doubt there is something going on because MG Jr., little mister contrarian that he is, usually DOESN'T sleep, but last night he DID. Hmmmm....VERY interesting! I'm keen to hear from the astrologers on this one.

Amusing that your coworkers pooh-pooh what you believe, until they need it. Ain't it always the way...

DH tends to act all tough, gently mocking me, but when his computers go kablooey at work during Mercury Retrograde, he calls me and asks, "When is this thing over with, again?"

2. Mars is triggering the Saturn Neptune opposition.
Edited on Fri Mar-23-07 10:21 AM by stellanoir
It opposed Saturn yesterday and will conjunct Neptune on Sunday at 1:40 pm EDT.

Mars is restless. Both Neptune and the Moon have influence over our relationship to the dream world and the unconscious.

Also Uranus is restlessly nearing the North Lunar Node in Pisces which is Neptune's sign. It'll pass.

I've never heard of a kid being anything but seriously spaced out from sleep deprivation. If the parents get uptight about it, it won't exactly encourage the kids to settle down.

Tell the parents to consider putting some epsom's salts and baking soda and some Dr Bronner's peppermint soap in a big soup pot and let the kid's have foot baths (if not full baths) before they go to sleep. Foot rubs truly help as well. Pisces rules the feet.

I've had as many as five little one's lined up on my couch all with their feet in big pots, they sort of looked like they were in trances. LOL

Too cute.

on edit-smudging their rooms with sage and salting the windows, thresholds, and corners wouldn't hurt either.

5. Thank you so much, stella. One thing that I can tell you is that these men are...
are completely and utterly desperate when they start asking me about the current planetary aspects!

I wanted to do a little dance when my colleague said that. They were very sweet words! :)

Thanks again!

8. How do you salt windows?
I'm new to this. My wife knows about smudging with a sage stick but what is salting windows exactly and how do you do it. Also, is salting windows only done during this type of astrological phase. What are other uses of salting. Thanks for help.

9. Just a little along the sill is how I do it.
Stella may have a better way; but that's my usual. I also use sea salt since it's more natural; but it really doesn't matter.I also go left to right (closing). If you wanna get a tad pagan; trace a protective sigil on a pane with your dominant hand also. Invisible; but you know it's there.

10. I just did this today...
I was sitting on the bed with my little one and got the lotion and started massaging his feet. He calmed right down. I was thinking that I needed to post since you had suggested something like that..

12. The reflexology I learned long ago was to massage the upper arches of the feet with one's thumbs
and the balls of the feet with one's fingers, drag the energy to the heel of the foot, throw it off and then apply a knuckle or thumb to the heel of the foot to reaffirm their grounding. You can also gently pinch the space between their big toe and second toe simultaneously. These are pressure points. There are others up the leg I'll expalin later.

Then yank their toes without a whole lot of force. Often. they crack and release tension.

As for the salting I think it may vary with the space involved but your advice sounds sound.

Better sleep for the little ones very soon.

OMG I love kids.

3. I'm no kid, but I've been having a heck of a time falling asleep lately.
Even when I's so tired I'm constantly yawning and my eyes are watering, I get in bed, and just can't fall asleep. Maybe I should try the epsom salt treatment.

6. The time change wreaks havoc on my kids for several weeks.
Happens again in the Fall.

But I don't have the knowledge of how anything astrological would be affecting them.

7. My two year old as well ...
Edited on Sat Mar-24-07 02:06 AM by Seabiscuit
Last night he kept getting up every 4 hours or so and crying. Tonight he went to sleep about 11:00 pm when he usually goes to sleep at 8:00 pm. I saw your post and I usually don't post in this forum (although I like to read what is going on astrologically) but I just had to respond to this.
