Hopefully it will talk more about taking action, which is what brought about Joe talking about the sequel. He said he also thought there should be more about taking action, and I agree. While I know that action is necessary in bringing about what we want (whatever that action might be), it is obvious that a lot of people DON'T really get that yet. So, bring on the sequel!

:woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

1. Agreed
It seems many people are missing the point completely.

What great news! Thanks for posting.

2. Joe Vitale has a new book coming out in July
on Ho'oponopono with Ihaleakala Hew Len.

I know when people learn about Ho'oponopono they will be astounded at how simple a process can affect such big changes in their lives. The thing is that we must be changed on the inside before things change on the outside.

3. There is one major topic that I disagree with him on
Several callers to Larry King asked about children getting sick and did they bring it on themselves. Joe was the only one who said, yes, it actually is their fault. Lisa Nichols and James Ray(?) had better explanations (IMHO) that sickness is just a part of life.

I do think that when people are adults and they have constant negative thoughts, they have less of an ability to fight off illness, but I don't really believe anyone who gets cancer or whatever brought it on themselves. When people are happier, I think they tend to be healthier and can fight things off better.

His story about his appendix hit home though, because last October by very overworked boyfriend broke his ankle and he was off work for 2 months. I kept joking that this was the universe's way of giving him some rest. It wasn't that he got a "vacation" because he was immobile and in pain, but he did get rest and got away from his job for a while.

But again, I know that concept of people bringing illness on themselves turns a lot of people off.

I'd love your thoughts.

4. I don't have an answer, but you may find this interesting...
My mother owns a store that caters to women with breast cancer. She has found that every woman (who has shared their story with her) has mentioned that they suffered a painful breakup in the year preceding their diagnosis. It's always a breakup--never the loss of a loved one or another devastating event. And it's always a breakup that the woman didn't want.

(No significant scientific research being conducted here, just an observation...:))

5. How interesting.
I wonder if there IS research about that. It would be interesting to look into that.

6. I believe there is
but if I remember correctly, the conclusion is that adverse events impact health within 10 years. My mom's experience is a specfic event within 1 year.

7. Interesting. Carolyn Myss and Christiane Northrup have some
very interesting ideas on this very subject. There are some very interesting theories on why illness represents itself in certain organs. Seems there is symbolic meaning in much that we just don't know for sure.

I do believe The Secret can affect us profoundly, but I also believe that there are just some karmic things at play also. There are lessons to be learned and only some ways to go about learning them. I don't think believing in one negates the other.

9. I think this is what he may have meant:
I would say that yes, children DO 'ask' for it--because their illness is there to serve as a lesson. NOT necessarily to them; but to their families or a doctor or in the case of third-world countries; to society as a whole. Almost every time I see a case of a young child being sick; it has served as a great learning experience and huge inspiration to the family and/or the community as a whole. This inspires us to greater heights of caring and compassion for one another and as a collective.

This concept is a hard one to convey, and I'm not sure that people always do the best job of explaining it. Sometimes it is hard to accept that those among us who are supposedly 'blank slates' and 'unknowing' actually could know instinctively the best and most selfless thing to do in a given situation-to be sick for the benefit of learning by others.

Mmmm. Make sense?

10. Very, very nice post
It's direly important that we learn compassion. How else could we gain that skills set if we were not presented with those types of sad, difficult, but important, opportunities? We can't sit back and remain in our comfort zone forever -- we'll become pot-bound, LOL!

I've had difficulty with this concept and your post makes a lot of sense.

12. Yes, that does make sense
The hardest lessons to learn aren't going to come from easy circumstances, huh? I learned the most when I was in the most "pain." And I can look back and be thankful for what I went through, because it brought me to where I am now.
