1. See if you can add a clause that says something to the effect of. . .

terms and conditions are subject to reassessment and possible revisions by either party in one month's time.

That should neutralize any negative potentials. Good luck with that and don't necessarily assume that anything signed under Mercury retro is ill fated. It only seems as such usually amd largely because we're paying far less attention than normal.

If it's not possible to add an addendum to the contract then comb over the document at least 3 or 4 times prior to signing.

I am actually looking forward to this, so it's good to know it's not automatically doomed. As I've posted in every thread this year, I've been trying to get divorced and I've decided I have a do-nothing lawyer who has basically wasted $2,000 of my money. I've found a new lawyer and I like her and think she's going to get this over with soon, so like I said, I'm really looking forward to this.

Judges generally love medition.

They don't have to litigate. It's a win/win for them.

Best of luck. i know all too well it's tough. You'll get through this I'm sure. But it's a pain in the butt to have one's spiritual source hovering over the court house.

How long has this matter been kicking around? If it's been around for a while and already subject to revisions, maybe this is a good time to sign, because Mercury retro concerns re-visiting, re-vising. BTW, I'm an attorney and I'm pushing everyone to sign a settlement agreement that has been kicking around for months with revision after revision. I wonder if anyone will disagree with me on this one.

7. To me, it's been almost fifteen months

but lawyers have only been involved for four. We separated in January of last year and I wanted to file then, but he kept having tragedy after tragedy and it just seemed cruel to throw divorce papers on top of everything, so I waited until the dust settled before I filed. And, I have to be honest with myself, I was afraid of him, so I really had to find my inner Superman before I did anything.

But the issues involved have truly been hanging over my head since the summer of 2005 (during my Pluto-square-Pluto) when I told him I wanted a divorce.

So yes, it's been around for a while and yes, there have been revisions. We agreed to an uncontested divorce that he then contested (and I had to pay twice), two revisions to the decree and all the while, my "ex" has changed his mind about what he "deserves" at least three times.

So, for more than a year, I've worked three jobs, received no child support, taken good care of my kiddo, conquered 20 years of fear and found my inner Superman. I'm ready! :)

Make sure your attorney has read it carefully, ask questions about anything you may not understand completely, and if satisfied, sign it. It's time to put this old business to bed. Mercury retro is good for bringing up old matters that need resolution.

14. It is OK to sign things, just make sure everything is correct. Check it twice, etc.

17. Holy granoly -- I didn't sign a thing

I had an issue with one paragraph, contacted my attorney and both of us were busy until last night when we finally got in touch with each other.

Today, we are (can you guess?) MOVING FORWARD!!

Thanks for everyone's input. The advice to read it more than once saved me from signing a contract I would have accidentally breached. (And I didn't notice that caveat until I read it the second time.) :hi:
