Some Mercury Rx thoughts and I'm asking for Dreams.

It’s that time of year again. Mercury goes retrograde today at 11:38 pm Eastern time and at 8:38 pm Pacific time at 11 degrees Pisces until March 7th. Whenever Mercury turns retrograde in a water sign (Pisces), we are given an opportunity to reexamine old emotional patterns and responses. Since Mercury turns retrograde one day before Valentine’s Day, perhaps you’ll all be thinking of old loves, or if you have a partner, thinking about how love used to feel. A more productive stance might be “how can I drop my old patterns and be the best lover/partner I can be?”

Venus and Mars nicely aspect each other earlier on Tuesday, combining a compassionate and idealistic understanding of love with a capacity for commitment in real time to the things and people we love. On Wednesday the 14th, these two planets form a very intense aspect with Saturn called a Yod, or Finger of God. This can either be the cause of great annoyance or can lift us up to see what love is really all about. My favorite poet, Rilke, says that Love is Work. My experience says he’s right. With this aspect on Valentine’s Day, why not work on your capacity to feel love and gratitude for the people in your life who matter to you. Become a love expert!

Now back to Mercury Retrograde. Remember all the usual suspects: RE – think, do, assess, evaluate, write, etc. Watch out for mechanical failures, and don’t sign anything important until after March 7th. Keep it simple, keep things clear. Don’t get upset if travel plans get delayed. Mercury is the god of travel as well as business.

Mercury in Pisces is very psychic, highly intuitive and even telepathic, but it can be totally oblivious to those finer details. Don’t try to order your life for the next three weeks. Learn to go with the flow and play with your creative imagination, if you haven’t been doing that already since Mercury went into Pisces on February 2nd. Go to the ocean, take a bath, go into trance. All of these things will facilitate the watery intelligence of Mercury in Pisces.

This Mercury retrograde is a call to the Mystic in all of us. The Sabian symbol for 11 degrees of Pisces is: SEEKERS FOR ILLUMINATION ARE GUIDED INTO THE SANCTUARY. We are called to the inner realms for further instructions.

Pay attention to your dreams, which will contain important information for the coming months, especially on February 13th and on March 7th when Mercury is turning around.

I confess that I hardly ever look at transits until someone from this forum posts them
or someone asks me about them. My work is mostly on natal charts, a small portion on transits.

But I decided to go look at my transits after your post Wicky, and it looks like something interesting. I have a transiting pile up on my natal pile up!

T Merc, Venus, Ura, NN conjuncting my n Pisces stellium consisting of Moon, sun, merc, nn.
And t Moon opp and t Jup square the whole mess. And then the merc is going retro in the middle
of it all. Yikes.

14. OK, I almost never remember my dreams. My last dream was about...

a month ago when I dreamed that I was married to the politician John Edwards and that we didn't love each other any more. I did't remember anything since then until last night.

Last night, I was watching an old episode of an HBO show where one of the lead male characters gave a man who supposedly ran out of gas a ride to get gas. Well, it turned out that the man was a psychopath and the remainder of the episode revolved around the man horribly abusing the character. It was so bad that I had to stop watching because what was happening to the male character was one of my worst fears. My husband continued to watch it (I told him to since I had put on headphones while surfing the Internet), and I sat trembling even though I couldn't hear it or see it any longer. The energy was just really bad.

Last night, I dreamed of something very similar. A psychopath somehow had me in his clutches and was hurting other people. I don't remember him hurting me, but I remember wondering how I could turn him into the police without him coming after me. I don't know that I ever resolved the problem. (By the way, this is definitely not about my husband who is exactly the opposite of the person in this dream. I say this since it's Valentine's Day, and it would be an easy leap to think that it's somehow related to my husband who has me "in his clutches". :))

That's my dream! By the way, I don't usually have nightmares when I watch stuff like this. I don't like terror movies/TV/books, but it doesn't usually stay with me after I stop watching/reading.

I was back at my old college, looking at the pottery studio, in hopes of making pots (I did that a lot at college). I kept accidently messing up peoples projects, and finally left the studio so I wouldn't do any more damage.

17. Raymo has had perfect attendance in school this year for the first time

in his academic career. He has been wishing for a day off for a little over a month. Since he's doing okay in school I said if he wanted to take what I used to call a "mental health day off" it would be cool with me but on the other hand it might be kind of neat to have perfect attendance for at least one year. I told him it was his call. Everytime he said, "I want a day off," he'd then go into a litany of reasons why it shouldn't be that particular day because there was somthing happening that he didn't want to miss.

We got an ice/snow storm overnight so his school was cancelled. He went back to sleep and what did he dream about . . ?

He dreamt that the TV got it wrong about school being cancelled so he went to school and missed his first class. Then his European History class was held in an enormous stairwell, and a student was teaching it. Then he talked to one of his buddies who was in a class being held in a hallway. Then he went to gym class and the two teachers decided that they and the kids would escape from the school. He said they had to go over razor wire and barbed wire fences. He said the school had become a high security zone. Once outside the school grounds they ran into the Principal so they had to go back into the school.

So much for Raymo's long awaited day off. He sarcastically said, "that's SUCH a vacation dream." LOL

Saturn is transiting his 12th semi sextiling his Moon.

31. Yes, Raymo's dream might seem simply a reaction dream.

But . . .

the dream also says alot about his experience of school. A student teaching European history - not a great comment on his teacher. It's the gym teachers I love -- the physical workout is what helps kids escape from the high security zone of rational consciousness.

We need a better educational system - Raymo and his friends should be out in the fields or on a fishing boat during these hormonal years.

I felt she had transgressed a boundary? What it was, I'm not certain - I think I felt unnecessarily criticized, which is an issue I've been struggling with from both sides (defensive/offensive).

I dreamed recently that I was looking for a new car, and that I was shown a volvo station wagon that was a shade of blue that I hadn't seen before. Someone in the dream was saying that this car would be the one for me, and that the type/shade of blue was important. I don't think it was a new car, but it was an older car that had been well maintained. The blue was something like a periwinkle but not exactly that.

Wickfordbard just sold an older but well maintained volvo (a sedan not a squareback) to another good friend of mine but though I had remembered it as being closer to the periwinkle you described, it was in actuality slightly deeper than a cornflower blue.

i had seen the car previously many times and I'm typically fairly good with my pallet but boy oh boy did I remember that color wrongly.

This may crack her up totally.

I have been checking DU sporadically and almost missed this.

I was not much aware of any correlation with the forces of the planets and the dreams, but
I have been going through the entire script this past week, and boy, I am changing it around like crazy - I will have to re-register the entire thing when I am done.
So there is the do assess and re-evaluate aspect happening... :)

I must say, I have felt the retro on my computer since I am working with a very old version of professional software, which launches the old system in the background. I think, I fixed some things, but I am monitoring what the hard drive is logging as I am posting this. So between trying to figure out where the computer conflict lies and the creative undertaking - surprisingly I am no longer rushed to submit it to the investor. He gets it when I'm satisfied with it. :)

Anyway, it may be attributable to my being totally in the story these days...I had a dream this morning that I can actually vividly remember one piece of it:

We move in a circle and this is a duel - an odd duel, as we use the energies of the mind, which actually is visible as distorted airmass between and around our heads. I'm going to give the dream and then some archetypal associations. See where you go with it. Look at the images or meanings from all your senses, intutions, thoughts, and feelings. *****You have your pisces moon (Mom, martyrdom, sensitivity) at 15 degrees. Opposite Pluto. Also Merc is square Pluto, so you’re always seeing deeper than others, but do they believe you? So the retrograde is touching on this old wound. You experienced too muchness with your mom when you were a wee infant – too much anger, passion, sexuality, control. Devastation. Invasiveness.

"I had just moved into my new McHouse, out in a cute little sanitary ‘burb. Heard this horrible mechanical noise and went to see what it was: my car was being towed, OUT OF
MY OWN DRIVEWAY!

I ran out, stopped the tow truck driver and asked WTF? – of course he was only following orders – someone had called in that the car was a nuisance. Apparently it ‘was always parked in the same place’ (Yeah, my DRIVEWAY!) and ‘the roof was too high per the neighborhood association covenants’.

I paid him the fee and got a receipt, and went back into the house. Then, the next morning I went out to leave for work and the CAR WAS GONE.

I found the receipt from the day prior and called the tow-place and yepper, the same person had complained again so they came back and got my car overnight.

Called my friend Jen – who is an attorney – and she came over. She called the tow place and they gave her the phone number of the person who was filing the complaints about my car.

She was on the phone with him/her: they were clearly just doing this to be a jackass, pulling bizarre gripes out of their butt to make me miserable. I kept sliding her notes like “the reason it looks like its always in the same place is because I go to work, and come home, and that’s it!” and “It’s a BRAND NEW car, not a junker!” etc … She continued to discuss and then suddenly got this look on her face, said ‘I have to go’ and hung up.

After she left, I was outside on the driveway (looking up at the sky, the big dipper was directly overhead – blurry - but off to my left I could clearly see 2 shooting stars) and the phone rang, it was the “complainer” calling back. He asked for her, then asked if I was the owner of the car, and then mentioned something about having met. His voice sounded familiar and I had a ‘flashback’ of sorts where I matched the voice and a sentence he had spoken during the conversation, with something I’d heard previously in another conversation, and it all fell into place. It was Mark - the 'almost relationship' I'd had terrible drama with this past September.
So what’s the dream’s message?
Is ‘my car being towed’ a hint that I need to "leave" (by force if necessary?) or is ‘my car being towed’ a sign that he’s (metaphorically?) stopping me from doing what I have to do (hijacking my means of transportation?)

******I played with some of your charts and your lunar return has merc at 0 pisces, same as your progressed merc. This lunar return was on your birthday, Feb. 2, and it had the sun and the moon in the same place as your birth – aquarius/leo.

You probably have an energy blockage that this situation is bringing up. The lunar return has Mercury, Venus, Uranus in the Merc Rx shadow. So old patterns around lovers is definitely up for you. Do you let your lovers take away your freedom? Do they complain about you path in life?

I was back at my old college, looking at the pottery studio, in hopes of making pots (I did that a lot at college). I kept accidentally messing up peoples projects, and finally left the studio so I wouldn't do any more damage.

I took some personal growth workshops starting at the time that I was attending that college. I have used the information and teachings to transform my life totally, but I of course am working on this nonstop while I still live. Certainly owning my feelings was and is a big part of this. One of my challenges in this life is to love myself without needing others to do this for me. How unusual, right? I also at the same point decided to stop rejecting my masculine side just because my father was such a dick. I cut my hair, got a real job and started asserting myself much more strongly. I stopped doing much astrology, stopped reading cards for people, and basically cut back on my feminine expression. Not that I reject the feminine, or my feminine side, but I don't need to practice it much because I'm good at it. I need to be just as good at being a man.

I didn't destroy other's pottery projects literally. I don't bother with jealousy or anger toward others in such a way. One mundane thing I did do was to take orders for pots with prepayment in order to pay for the workshops. I had to vacate the pottery studio and never fulfilled some orders. I do feel guilty about that. My friend Nancy (see healing thread) was one who gave me money, and she doesn't hold anything against me. I also gave money to someone else who never delivered on his promise to me, but I hold no grudge against him.

My biggest issue now is the fallout from my divorce. I have recently moved to a house near the ocean, and for the first time since long before I got married, I don't worry about money. But the issue is having a successful relationship with a woman. My ex and I were great together at building and running her yoga studio, and we are great at being friends.

SIGH. Too much muchness with my mom when I was wee? Probably so - she left my father shortly after I was born, she was in love with another. I hear stories of how much other people loved to hold me when I was a baby, but no stories of how much she loved to hold me. I love my momma and she loves hers, and when I step back to look at the three of us as souls, I suspect we share similar karmic issues (fidelity, love, abandonment, wealth/poverty...)

Seeing deeper than others? That's a nice way of putting it - my husband (same bday as me) has said that I project too much. I prefer to say that I'm seeing potentialities - good and bad. I like to be prepared, but this habit of thought also causes me to worry.

Where am I experiencing this boundary issue with friends? Not many friends - issues of distance, both geographical and emotional. I am experiencing this with my husband and homelife - I have no boundaries that say "This is Dora's time, space, work, and she's hard at it." I feel that my time has been taken away from me as a result of becoming a mother and working full time. I don't have the time to read, to write, to think, and I've been hungering for it.

I feel a quiet resentment, but we're working on selling our home and buying a bigger one so that I have the physical space for my needs. A room of one's own is only part of it. So, I keep a lid on it, and wait and hope for the best.

You probably have an energy blockage that this situation is bringing up. The lunar return has Mercury, Venus, Uranus in the Merc Rx shadow. So old patterns around lovers is definitely up for you. Do you let your lovers take away your freedom? Do they complain about you path in life?


Old patterns in terms of lovers - the same ones (or the same prototype) keeps coming back into my life ... I keep repeating history. I wouldn't say I let them take away my freedom, but more like I give them too much power and importance over my path ("Ohh, maybe he's the one! And I won't have to buy my own house, I'll be moving into his!" types-of-thoughts)

Hi everyone,

I'm old to DU, but new to this group. I never knew that it
existed until someone provided a link in the religion/spirituality
group. I'm so glad I found you!

I am hoping to listen to opinions about a dream I had six months
ago. It has haunted me since, and I'm wondering what it means,
if anything.

First off, the dream happened while I was asleep. However, it
was different than a dream. It was incredibly vivid. I've
had dreams where childhood memories surface, and the clarity of
this dream was similar to those childhood-memory dreams.

In the dream, I was in a street and I watched a large aircraft
(flat, black, looked like a military plane) fly overhead. I
knew that we were in trouble. I saw a flash to my right and I
instinctively knew that a bomb was dropped and that I had limited
time to reach my children. I ran toward a fence, trying to get
to them, then the dream ended.

Here's one thing I do not understand. For a few months, I kept trying
to figure out where I was running. I was standing in my neighborhood,
and I was puzzled about why I would run to this particular fence. I
absolutely knew that it made sense, but the direction that I was running
in seemed off. Last week, I was lying in bed, thinking about this--and it
suddenly hit me. I was running toward my children's school--from our house.
That was it!! It was like a puzzle piece moved into place, and my "mind"
felt relieved that I figured it out. Does that make any sense at all?

Besides the context of the dream, I am fascinated that a part of my mind
gave me this dream and it made perfect sense to that part of my mind. However,
my conscious mind wasn't getting it---*I* wasn't getting it. In effect, there
is a part of me that did get all of this--and my conscious had to be "taught"
the answers. Again, am I making sense?

One last thing, after I had this dream I was incredibly emotional. I sat on the
edge of my bed, trying to ground myself--when my five-year old comes into my
room and says, "Mommy...I'm so upset, I had a bad dream. I dreamed that the whole
world caught on fire and that the dinosaurs came back".

If anyone has any opinions, I'm all ears. Again, I'm glad to find this
board and I'm excited to read the posts here and learn from all of you.

this kind of 'end of the world' dream is about big changes in your life. changes that you feel will hurt your children in some way. The fact that your daughter dreamt something similar suggests that you both are very connected to this energy right now. We all have the collective memory of the world being destroyed by fire - and of course, it is what we fear the most. The bomb incinerating us. Fire though is creative as well as destructive. Your daughter's hit is that the fire bring on the dinosaurs - our reptilian brains or the dragons or the baser parts of human nature. She's worried that whatever change is going to happen will bring out the worst in people she loves?????

Without more of your associations, I can't go on. But you can work on this.

Of course you'd know how to orient yourself in a dream - the dream comes from the Self - bigger than the ego, more in tune with everything that is going on.

As a rule, I never remember my dreams.

Yesterday at work (Friday) toward the end of the day I suddenly remembered, kind of, not quite, a strange dream that I had had the night before.

A psychic friend of mine was in the dream, and were doing something -- with a group or yes with other people or perhaps with other spirits? -- where we were directing energy or some force or something with our hands, the way you hold your hands --

Hmm, what is that word ? Mudras. Like, cupping your hands and meditating but there was some force coming to you that was being redirected by your cupped hands.

I have absolutely no idea what this was about. But we were DOING something -- with things unseen? And it was like an experiment or test. But I cannot remember what it was that we were indeed doing.

I've been working on my dream and letting go of my rational Mercury in Gemini (in the 12th house though)

I've been using Crystals, active imagination, chi gong, journaling, as well as other things best not spoken of, to let go of my normal everyday mind and open up to the possibilities of Mercury in Pisces.

I've been working it through and for me, Cats represent (aside from the fact that Cat is my nickname) the spiritualized body - Body that's full of Spirit. It comes and goes as it pleases, loving you and yet wanting it's space, sniffing the air with its 6th sense, seeing in the dark.

What my meditations told me before I re-read (Merc Rx) about Bast was that my sensual, Taurus nature had been poisoned but I had transmuted the poisons and my body had healed itself. Anyone who has survived poisons are usually immune to them afterwards. The shiny coat reminded me of the gnostic story , The robe of glory. and I've been working magic with the 'world' my crystals, the mountains, the desert, the moon, the desert sun - and my body and its senses are back online. The ideas of fertility/ goddess/body are recurring through the active imaginations. It's fascinating.

I was sitting at work talking with folks about the weather (it was raining) and Russ Feingold 'stopped
by'. Apparently we know each other. :loveya: He and I were talking and he mentioned having to go somewhere
for the weekend, and while we were sitting at a table chatting, we were looking directly at each other but
started touching fingers/hands - almost like sorta entwining fingers to hold hands but not quite - and I lost
track of the conversation and was focused on 'OMG, he's flirting with me!' and wondering what everyone else
in the office was thinking :blush: .

Then I was driving "his" car - I was going to go home but traffic was heavy and it was raining
really hard so I turned down a different road and it was like a dark tunnel with alot of hills
(one I'd been thru before because I knew this time to turn my lights on and honk the horn
periodically so nobody would bump into me). I actually got that 'rollercoaster' feeling and
was a little yukky & lightheaded when I woke up. I came thru the tunnel and pulled into a
gas station and was uber-cautious about where I parked because I didn't want anyone to ding his
(Wisconsin Badger Red :) ) Hybrid Camry. <? do those even exist? >

Why Russ Feingold? What does he mean to you? Or his brand of politics.

Driving his car can mean putting yourself on the line politically somewhere (or doing something that he would do). Also, when it's hard to get home, there's always a sense that things are keeping you from being yourself - heavy emotions (rain) and too many things to do (traffic). You are making new pathways to get back to yourself, feeling them out rather than planning them.

...I had a dream about a giant egg. During the dream I felt very protective of it, and at one point I was rubbing some sort of oil on it--like dressing it.

58. I am dreaming a LOT lately

Hi WB,

Had two very vivid dreams--one last night and one the night before.

The first one: I was in a very odd landscape--something out of old '60s British television, like The Prisoner or The Avengers--rolling, grassy hillsides, circus tents, large "toys", and strangely dressed people wandering about. I was taken in hand by one of them, a kindly older lady, who told me I was going to meet several people who would have me solve different puzzles. I was very worried that they were far more clever than I was and I would be embarrassed at how poorly I did on the tests.

This first person turned me over to another person, and I did their puzzle as best I could. That person took me to a second person, and I did another puzzle. That person took me to a third person--a tall, thin man in a beige turtleneck IIRC, who was very short-tempered. I did his puzzle, and when I was done, he just walked away--slipped into one of the circus tents.

I didn't know where to go next, so I followed him. There were a lot of people in the tent, just having a cocktail party. I didn't see the irritable person, but I saw the first lady I had met. I was a little afraid to approach her, because part of me surmised that, like some surreal sci-fi story, at this point everyone would pretend not to know who I was and I would run around in a blind panic trying to get out of this weird place.

But I caught her eye, and she called me over to her group. I told her what happened, and she said, "Oh dear, he wasn't supposed to do that. Well, he's new--he probably doesn't know." And she helped me after that. Then the dream faded.

The dream I had last night was very disjointed. I remember at one point having a very passionate discussion with Lauren Graham about how terrible Gilmore Girls has gotten without Amy Sherman-Palladino, the show's creator, writing the episodes anymore, and another where I was with a group of friends waiting to be seated at a new Mexican restaurant, but I didn't want to sit at the table that the hostess showed us because only moments before a waitress had been standing on the table! :rofl:

But the one part that brought me up short was I was outside. I looked up, and I realized I was at the bottom of a very deep, very lush canyon. At first glance it seemed very verdant, but then I noticed that there were many (many!) very unusual, modern (glass and steel) buildings integrated right into the stone and trees of the canyon. I saw some pretty "unrealistic" architecture--almost Dr. Seuss-ian in its defiance of gravity. When I woke up, I got the sense that that canyon and those houses and office buildings weren't anywhere on Earth--I had seen either a society on another planet (and that society was far more respectful of living WITH nature than we are), or it was Earth in another time.

Phew--I wonder where I'm "going" tonight!

that might account for the dreams. some healing with Venus in Aquarius (Gilmore girls), Prog. Merc at 29 aquarius would be the commication, and some breaking up of old fearful and lonely patterns that have kept you imprisoned and thinking you're crazy. (Uranus on Saturn)

The dreams themselves speak of you having to work things out - the puzzles -= and there is an inner critic that is keeping you in fear.

That you don't like the way things are going (Gilmore girls??) - maybe not as classy as you'd like (waitress on table)

The third dream is very interesting and it does feel like another world. Perhaps this is the world you want to create after you puzzle things through.

Your interpretations make a lot of sense. I just left my full-time job (miserable situation--and it did make me feel crazy) to freelance and raise MG Jr. There is a certain amount of fear in that, of course, even though it was healing to leave the 9-to-5 job.

As for the Gilmore Girls reference, I'm thinking now that it represents the pinnacle of brilliant writing for me--well, it DID, when it was good--and, as a writer, it's something I aspire to--really engaging stories with a unique voice--and I tend to write a bit wacky, like that show, when I really get going.

I don't know what was all about that exotic landscape. I strongly suspect I was traveling, but I'm still not sure what that particular sight was supposed to tell me, unless it was just to show me a positive future for our planet--or at least what's possible.
