Question re: upcoming Mercury retrograde
Hi all,

I just happened to look over an astrology site and see Mercury turns retrograde next month, Tuesday, Feb. 13. My son is getting married during this retrograde cycle - on the 17th. Any idea of how this might impact the marriage? Or should I not worry about it? They made plans months ago, wanting to have it close to the anniversary of their first date three years ago.

Generally I am not a worrier, so I'll not send energy into the negative expression, but I wonder if there's any "countering" the energy of this impact if it turns out to be necessary.

Hope all that makes sense. Thanks!

1. I'm not one of the astrologers
but from what I do know, have them double check travel plans, and suggest same to any guests traveling to the wedding. Have a happy time!

2. The culmination of a long-standing situation is no problem during retro periods.
So getting married is not a problem, at all. Mercury retrograde can, however, play a little havoc with short-term travel plans, communication and the beginning of ventures (the inception, or the germination of the idea.)
So it is best to wait before doing something new, because otherwise it can be moot by the time the retro period ends.
It also depends on the placement of transiting mercury in the chart, etc.

Best to consult an astrologer to really know the implications, but there is no blanket information that will truly help.

4. One would look to the dynamic between their natal Mercuries
and progressed and composite Mercuries.

For the wedding itself, it may effect traveling guests arrival and departure, and hassles with honeymoon plans so votes is right, advise them to not schedule things to tightly if that's at all possible with a wedding.

My first impression of marrying under Mercury retro, is they might as a couple be misunderstood or their bond be a mystery to some, and have a modicum of spurious gossip.

I would recommend that they restate their vows when Mercury goes forward over the point it was retrograde and maybe for a few years to come to neutralize any confused fall out.

"Blessings on their souls mazeltoff" (defined in Hebrew as good constellation or good chart.)

6. Some astrologers would agree, some would not. But it doesn't matter.
What does matter is, that everyone is happy with their plans for marriage, etc. If they feel it necessary later, then yes, by all means re-state the vows. But the real "marriage" was solidified when they decided to wed.

In my humble opinion, lol.
