Everyone please wish me luck in locating and accruing my lost wallet.
Edited on Sun Oct-01-06 03:19 AM by BlueIris
This is not an emergency needs-a-pile-of-light posts. I just managed to leave my wallet in the bathroom of a supermarket right before closing and it had some cash in it and a new ATM card it took me TEN DAYS to re-order after an ATM for a bank I don't normally deal with (read: US Bank-At-Your-Own-Risk) sucked my card away as the result of an electronic error and I was forced to get it re-issued. The good news is that I left it in said bathroom right before the store closed, and it's a generally honest, solidly "blue" store that I've shopped at for years, so I'm confident that if someone finds it, it will be turned over to Lost-and-Found ASAP. Also, they open at 7 a.m. so I feel I have a good chance of going early and trying to get it back first thing in the morning if it is available to be claimed.

What I learned from this one: if my tiny little warehouse job that is barely, barely netting me enough money to make rent every month is creating THIS much stress, (and the wallet loss occurred after a good night) it's time to move on, with or without another opportunity readily available. Jesus H. Christ. Enough is enough.

I'll be wishing you even more in about 7 minutes. I feel it'll be okay.

And tomorrow morning at 8:30 am EDT, I could use some LUCK as well. I've been driving for about 3 decades and like most people, every single time I've been at the wheel I have had my license safely in my wallet.

However, I had to renew my license on my birthday and was issued a temporary paper one which I placed in my binder. When I got home I thought better of it and moved it to my glove compartment, where it stayed until Friday when I needed it for a banking transaction after which I had intended to put it back in the glove compartment. I neglected to do so.

I carry two bags when I am working. One small one for the regular stuff women carry and one larger satchel for my ephemerides, my cards, and my binder.

I had a gig at a charity event on Friday night in a very dark (in terms of physical lighting only) fancy restaurant. I finished doing readings and put my satchel down when I when to dance. When I was ready to go home, my satchel had been moved. I looked everywhere I could see and it was no where to be found. So I figured I'd call the restaurant in the morning and see if it could be located under the light of day.

For the first time in about five years I was stopped for a moving violation (speeding) on the way home. For the first time in three decades, I did not have my license. That is a criminal offense.

I'll be in court tomorrow morning at 8:30 am. Yikes.

3. Oh ick
You say the satchel had been "moved"? Like taken? I'm sure the court will understand. And I sure hope your satchel is recovered.

8. I just learned that it had been taken and left with the hostess
at the front of the restaurant and my friend who organized the event saw it and now has it and I'll retrieve it this afternoon. Phew.

16. Great news.
One night I was at the grocery. My mind was occupied on personal troubles. When it came time to pay the checkout, I could not find my wallet! I had had it out earlier in the day doing some online purchases with my card. So I told the cashier. oh rats .. I'll run right home, get it and be right back. It wasn't at home. So I thought, is there anyway I could have dropped it in the parking lot there? That was a very problematic time for me due to the personal issues. No focus. I called the store from home to see if anyone had turned it in. I find the people here are really honest and I trust them. Except for this one group, which we won't get into. As it turns out, I had taken my wallet and put it in the little tray at the front of the grocery cart, the slot they have for coupons I guess. As soon as I walked out the cashier had noticed it there. It was right in front of me and I couldn't see it.

I'm glad someone turned yours in. Sometimes things are so weird. Long time ago my bag was stolen at a club while I was dancing. A few days later someone called and had found it in a dumpster. Now that I tell this that sounds strange. The only thing missing was the cash. All my id, etc. was intact. But I wonder what that person was doing in a dumpster? Diving I suppose. I was just glad to get my purse and personal id back.

5. I'll send you light and good vibes, stella. That's really too bad...
that it had to work out that way.

I'm visualizing you walking into court, explaining the situation, and the judge/magistrate believing you so that you are not hurt because of this lost license. (This or something better for the highest good of all involved.)

9. I think there might be a message here Stella.
The universe sends us small ones first, then ups the ante until we get it.

The message I see is that you are meant to pay more attention to your belongings and personal matters. Someone may not have your best interests at heart.

13. Thanks cassie
I agree and it reminds me of a tee shirt SO during my token healthy relationship.. . ."I used to doubt the universe."

Too funny and too weird.

I got a not so subtle message this weekend.

6. You've got it, BlueIris.
Good vibes coming your way.

I'm visualizing you walking into the store and walking out with the wallet and its contents exactly as they were when you left it there. (This or something better for the highest good of all involved.)

10. Welp...it wasn't in the store's Lost-and-Found.
I hate to ask, and I mean, HATE to ask, but is anyone...getting anything? It's remotely possible I didn't leave it there, and that it is in my house someplace. I've been asking my guides for help like crazy, though, and not getting anything. Of course, I'm also getting a "everything will be alright feeling," but--!! I WANT MY WALLET!!! THIS ISN'T FAIR.

12. Hm.
Try looking on top of your toilet or in the clothes you were wearing? Or, in or under the grocery bags? Maybe it fell out in your car? *shrug*

14. I've looked everywhere. Car, room, and it's funny you should mention
the toilet. That was the first place I looked! I don't know. It will either get returned or it won't. I'm...open to the possibilities. I still think that this is a strange way for the Universe to be communicating with me, though. Because not everything is a message from the Universe, some things are just bad luck, or a reflection of our own imbalances (in my case, emotional stress and schedule issues that need to be reformed). Thanks for the suggestion, though, BluePatriot.

17. Aw, Blue! Not another thing to add to the pile!
That's just not fair!

I'm honestly not getting anything on this one. Reminds me of a time I met some friends at a bar--I didn't want to carry much, so I lightened my load and only took money and I.D. The credit cards and such were safely stashed away in a tiny wallet--I THOUGHT. Got home--nothing. Just the cash and I.D. I called the bar and they were very sympathetic, but no dice. I called ALL my credit cards that minute (after midnight on a Saturday if I recall correctly) and got new ones etc. etc. etc...and then about a week later I opened my glove compartment. I forgot I had tucked it in there for just a few minutes before I went into the bar! Amazing the things you do when you're under stress--and for that particular memory, your minds is a void. Freaky.

But the least I can do is send you tons of white light--so YOU'VE GOT IT. Hope it turns up soon!

23. I just want to throw things.
Which I would do if I didn't already know that this action wastes energy which could better be applied to finding a better job and not losing my housing, etc.

18. No problem
I was like "toilet? um?" so I threw in a few more common sense spots. I'm not sure what else to suggest besides retracing your steps. Best of luck getting it back.

20. what does it look like?
Did you see the other thread for lost objects?
Try this >
http://decoz.com/LostObjects.php

Describe it, color, shape, how many pockets?

I told a lost wallet story upthread, which is the one I still have. But I do remember another. When I was maybe 10 y/o. And had my first purse. It was red. We had girl scouts at a park and I took batton lessons there too. I think I left it on a paid phone booth when I made a call. I had such faith that someone would call and return my purse. Of course as a 10 y/o, I didn't have any id. No one ever called.

Is your phone number in there? Some way for a finder to find you?

Losing a wallet is like losing part of yourself. I do wish a happy ending. My vibes, for what its worth, is take precautions. Cancel the card. Get a new DL. All that tedium.

And go get a new wallet. Make a connection with it. An agreement to never part.
That's the kind I have now. I got it at the art fair our company had once a week. It's rather plain. (I happen to be a purse collector and have sworn to myslef to thin that out .. I have a really bitchen little bag.. k .nuther thread . sorry)

In the pocket window is a card I got from the hospital gift shop when my daddy was dying.
It's the picture of a big angel watching over a young boy and girl, on their path.
The back reads: "Let him have all your worries and cares, for he is always thinking about you and watching everything that concerns you". 1st Peter 5 /7 .. Everytime I open it to pull out my atm card, it is right there as a reminder.

Your angel is watching, Iris.

Protection and blessing for you. Sometimes we just have to move on.

11. Blue, go to the thread that you participated in in this forum titled
"Can anyone pick up something on some treasured "lost" items for me?"

I think the one thread in there could be helpful, and probably several.

Good Luck to you!

15. When you checked at lost and found,
did you also go to the bathroom and look for the wallet there? Sometimes it takes awhile for things to get to the lost and found.
I hope you can get a really good job soon, one that you like.

22. Yes, I checked the bathroom first. No go.
Like I posted above, it will either get returned or it won't. I'm resigned to that now. This is just...the absolute worst time for this to have happened. Thanks for your good wishes, though!
